Courtney Love seems to be chomping at scraps to stay in the press lately.
Now an apparent claim to be Lindsay Lohan's sobriety coach has been thoroughly debunked by an official Lohan representative.
According to E Online, Love claimed to have taken a role supporting Lohan in her battle against alcohol "because no-one else will."
She continued: "I went up to Lindsay's room one time and there was a show on called '101 Celebrity Oops' and I am like every other one, you know - boobs out, legs everywhere, throwing s--t at Madonna, you know, whatever I'm like 'Lindsay, look! Drugs are bad!'"
Love added that Lohan's problems are serious and that the 25-year-old is "further down the line than I was." The young star of Mean Girls is currently on probation for repeatedly violating probation.
But Love is by no means an official sobriety partner to the younger star. "Courtney Love is not, nor has she ever been, Lindsay's sober coach. Lindsay is, however, grateful for her friendship," Lohan's rep Steve Honig said.
Courtney Love has hit the UG headlines several times in recent weeks, most notably for ranting about Dave Grohl about the fact that he earns money from Nirvana despite being a member of the band. She even admitted lying to his credit card company to find out more about his spending habits.
