Dave Pybus has left Cradle Of Filth due to "personal reasons", reports Digital-Noize. An official statement from the band reads as follows: "We are sorry to say that as of yesterday (Thursday, January 20th), Dave Pybus is no longer with Cradle Of Filth. Dave has decided, for personal reasons that he is unable to continue with the band. This will not endanger the tour dates we currently have in place or future recording commitments, as a replacement will be found to complete these. "We are all very sorry that Dave has made this decision and he will be missed."

you are all idiots and know nothing of metallica.. you make judgements before you know the whole story... and i wouldnt really say st anger killed every metallica fan.. they still sell out venues.. and if you dont know what rob did before he entered metallica.. you know nothing about metal

Man, some of you guys should just chill. Honestly. WHAT DOES METALLICA HAVE TO DO WITH CRADLE OF FILTH IN THE FIRST PLACE? Rob Trujillo joined the band AFTER they made St.Anger, he didn't even play bass, Bob Rock played the bass lines for St.Anger. Second off, I thought St.Anger was complete crap, but you just have to come in with an open mind. It's got some cool songs like Some Kind of Monster, Invisible Kid, and Frantic is pretty good too. It doesn't compare to their older work, but why compare to other bands/albums? Ok, the production is bad and it's supposedly "raw"- and it's Bob Rock's fault. But hey, at least it's not like the guy is trying to sabotage Metallica and make them sound horrible. In fact, St.Anger made me a better Metallica fan, I enjoyed their early work, but St.Anger helped me enjoy Load and Reload more, and I started to listen to other heavier stuff. And, if someone wants to say Cof sucks, they can go ahead cause it's their opinion and they're free to say it. I personally don't like Cradle of Filth, but I don't go around saying they suck. Anyways, too bad for them losing a band member, that always sucks.

*I thought St.Anger was complete crap, but I've come to enjoy it was what I meant to say.
    im not mental
dieiervonstn: robert trujillo was a bassist for suicidal tendencies and infectious grooves. he should've stayed clear of metallica. st anger blew.
Rob Trujillo didn't join metallica until after st. anger was finished. bob rock did the bass for st. anger. cradle of filth isn't really my favorite black metal band (emperor is my fav) but it's too bad their bassist left.

IadultswimI Nice of you to say that. If you didn't like the band, why did you even bother commenting here in the first place?

In my opinion CoF isnt good like they used to be, and wats the big deal, i mean theyve switched memebers so many times its like natural

this seems odd to me. I have been a fan for over 6 years and every year some one leaves the band for"personal resons".

"Personal reasons" means "everybody hates Dani".

I hate of Cradle of Filth, but I"m sure it will work out for them, hearing about the changes they've had.

civ182: woa... hope the 'replacement' isnt gonna be like rob for metallica... [POSTED: 25 January 2005 - 08:13] What the *** is that supposed to mean?

    Because I can.
we can clearly see you have the maturity level of a 2nd grader...thumbs up to you, now may you go and fall off the face of the earth. damn there are too many haters out there

    exile166: Cof sucks.

    hypocrisy
You idiots: This isn't Metallica/Rob Trujilla news, so don't post about them. I'm sorry to hear that he quit, and who knows why. He wasn't bad, but it might change CoF in the future for better or worse if he actually did some songwriting for the band.
    Bassman13
the new metallica bassist took metallica and killed it for me, and most every other metallica fan. But Cradle of Filth's been throught this before, their music wont' change.

    <<< Frantic >>>
Cradle of Filth have had so many line-up changes aside from Dani and Adrian that it won't matter what bass player they get anymore, or guitarist for that matter, although Paul Allender's been with them for a while now, since From The Cradle To Enslave I believe, and he was on their first LP Principle of Evil Made Flesh. That sucks dick but, he's been with them for a few years and made a few great albums
    animike123
Ahh, that sucks. Im a big Cradle fan, and i agree with >. As long as Dani still carries the band, its fine with me.
    metalfan
trujillo is an awsome guitarist man, he had nothing to do with st aanger bob rock and james hetfield record the basslines for that album.
    Scourge441
Rob Trujillo is supposed to be a good bassist, though, and if Bob Rock gets fired, then Metallica might return to their former greatness. I'm not a huge fan of CoF, but it sucks when a band member leaves.
    hellcat28
It always happen with cradle of Filth!!!! Members come and go!!! Nobody wants to work with Danny Filth.
    AdamJonesWanabe
i've heard a few COF songs...and frankly i only liked one...Nymphetamine from Resident Evil 2...thats only cos it wasnt Dani the whole time... I see what u can't
    unknownalone
its funny how an article about cof gets turned into a discussion about metallica...but yea it always sucks when someone quits a band, there should be no sympathy for quitters though, damn quitters
    axlreznor
There's a lot of their songs that aren't Dani the whole time. Most of their new stuff features dual-vocals not unlike that of Lacuna Coil. Female vocals were provided by Theatre Of Tragedy and Leaves Eyes' Liv Kristine. But yeah, they've been through so many line-up changes that it doesn't matter. And Rob Trujillo is an amazing bassist. Check out what he did with Ozzy, Black Label Society and Jerry Cantrell. He's one of the best bassists around.
    BeLikeFlea44
rob trujillo is amazing at bass. hes incredible at slap funk bass as well as metal, and will hopefully bring a much needed change to metallica. and no matter how bad metallica gets, they will still own cradle of flith.

They wrote St Anger before he even joined, dumbass. And why does every post on this damn site always revert back to St Anger? Get over it already. This isn't even a Metallica story.
    axlreznor
nirvana666 - get Jerry Cantrell's Degradation Trip (preferably the 2 disc version). That's Jerry, Rob and Mike Bordin. And Rob was in BLS' live line-up at some point. I don't know when, but he was on their live DVD.

So? Just because they wrote a bad album doesn't mean I wouldn't join Metallica... Being in Metallica would be ***in' awesome. I mean, yea it would suck playing St. Anger... but playing Master of Puppets infront of a crowd of 30,000 with Metallica?? Shit, I wouldn't pass that moment up for anything.
    jose kaempffer
alright... going back to the cradle of filth line up..... at least i got the chance to see him live with cradle but there are been so many changes in the line up of cradle that i think this won't affect the band, they will found another good bass player.....
    Rea117
As long as Cradle carry on going, sure it sucks, but Cradle of Filth are one of the top bands and they just keep on going
