ABC ePrep reports that former Jane's Addiction/Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro will receive the Stevie Ray Vaughn Award at a May 20 benefit concert for MusiCares MAP Fund, which helps musicians recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. The award honors his support of the fund and his work in helping other artists overcome their addiction. Navarro will participate in the keynote panel discussion at MusicExpo 2005, a music and media forum that will run from May 1 through May 4 in Los Angeles. Larry King will host the discussion, which will take place on May 2. Navarro recently spent time in the studio working on the the debut album from The Panic Channel ? the new band featuring three quarters of the most recent lineup of Jane's Addiction (Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Chris Chaney) and former Skycycle vocalist Steve Isaacs.

    he actually isnt bad...i guess compared to other guitarists, he doesnt seem too special, but he still is a good guitar player. too bad janes addiction is gone...even though i only heard just because, stop, and mountain song,i loved it.
