Deep Purple to Perform Free Concert in Las Vegas

The event serves as a part of the Rock Of Vegas summer concert series.

Deep Purple will play a free concert at the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas this Friday, August 15, Hennemusic reports.

The event, part of the Rock of Vegas summer concert series, will see the band perform on the 3rd Street Stage at 9 pm.

Fremont Street Experience, a five-block entertainment district located in historic downtown Las Vegas features Viva Vision, the world's largest video screen - 1,500 feet long, 90 feet wide and suspended 90 feet above the urban pedestrian mall. Viva Vision features nightly light and sounds shows with 12.5 million LED lights and a 550,000-watt sound system.

Deep Purple are currently playing shows on a month-long series of dates across North America.

The group has recently been working on new music for the follow-up to 2013's "Now What?!" album.

    Yes it will be a 60 minute one song show featuring the extended version of Smoke on the Water.
    i'd still rather listen to a set list of those "one hit wonders" over blackmore's night any know.. that dungeons and dragons type sh1t that he got rid of Dio for in Rainbow(although that really wasn't the case, except for maybe a few songs...), still tho, Dio was bigger and better after leaving Rainbow anyways.
    I love this band, all incarnations, except maybe the Tommy Bolin. The current version is amazing. If you consider yourself a Purple fan, and don't think "Simple Song" and "Hell to Pay" off their latest are top tier Purple tunes, well sir, we have nothing to discuss.
