There are people in this world that don't like slash.

This is going to be a freaking fantastic festival. Why the hell can't we have an amazing fest like this with all these kick ass metal/hard rock bands in the US? Instead, we get Coachella with all of its indie/hipster garbage. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't remember when the US had a fest this good (not including any big 4 shows).

Because they make more money in Europe for one (currency)....and with the half-retarded people in this country and the crap music they listen to, they probably couldn't fill a stadium that big here. IMO... ;D

Just need some Slayer and Maiden on there and it would make me buy some plane tickets without a second thought.

Download is not the only great festival in Europe. Here in Spain, which has had very few good festivals until recently has Sonisphere this year (Metallica,Soundgraden,Slayer, Children of Bodom, Kyuss, Ghost, Gojira, Orange Goblin, and Mastodon) and Azkena which is more of a hard rock/alternative rock festival (Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blue Oyster Cult, My Morning Jacket, Pentagram, Dropkick Murphys). And then in the rest of Europe you have Wacken,Rock am Ring,Hellfest,Sweden Rock, Several Sonispheres, Bloodstock, Graspop and other several great festivals. You Americans should really come over during the summer!

This coming from a narrow minded metalhead; Prodigy is one of the best live acts out there. I'm glad I had the chance to see them at RaR 2008. I was skeptical too, but they are worth to headline any festival.

My favorite guitarist (Jeff Waters) loves Slayer, but I don't care for them at all. I saw 'em live with Anthrax and Megadeth. They were headlining and were just boring

Whilst there may be people in the world who don't like Slash, I doubt either of them will be at Download

As a person who enjoys guitar-based music primarily I must say those guys are among the coolest festival acts you can find nowadays. Srsly: if you can get pas the clichmatic "PEOPLE, (shouts out location of gig), LET ME SEE YOU JUMP!!!" and the fact that their stuff is pretty much "urban-ish" drum & bass (I wouldn't call it grime) it's actually quite a cool experience to mosh your way through a crowd while listening to something other than metal Seriously, I know it doesn't compare to Soundgarden and such but I still had a hell of a time

it would be awesome if slayer would be there aswell, then the big four could all go on and do a song or two.
