Because they make more money in Europe for one (currency)....and with the half-retarded people in this country and the crap music they listen to, they probably couldn't fill a stadium that big here. IMO... ;D

Not interested in metallica or sabbath really but there are a lot of good bands on this. Almost makes me want to go back to download. Almost.

For those who consider the prodigy to suck because its electronica dont be close minded and start stereotyping the electric genre isnt david guetta(i hate that guy **** him) listen to "out of space" from the prodigy for an eargasm.

My favorite guitarist (Jeff Waters) loves Slayer, but I don't care for them at all. I saw 'em live with Anthrax and Megadeth. They were headlining and were just boring

At first I was disappointed that Machine Head were not headlining Friday night, particularly as The Prodigy were offered the spot, but now I'm glad since I can see Machine Head again then pop over to the second stage to see Slash with Myles Kennedy again! This is turning out to be a pretty epic line-up \m/

Black Sabbath, BLS, Devin Townsend, Kyuss Lives!, Lamb of God, Megadeth, Periphery, Rise Against, Steel Panther and Trivium... Not bad at all, a shame I won't be going because all these damn festivals always take place when I'm on exams at college!

This coming from a narrow minded metalhead; Prodigy is one of the best live acts out there. I'm glad I had the chance to see them at RaR 2008. I was skeptical too, but they are worth to headline any festival.

*voting up all comments from butthurt Americans who complain they don't get any good festivals over there, ignorant of the fact they get tons of amazing gigs instead*... *purchases ticket*

And I live in the US... My life... is no bueno right now...

Wish I could go... The whole line-up looks killer. Hell, Black Sabbath and Metallica is awesome enough! I wouldn't be too crazy about Steel Panther, though. They would be excellent if they were serious about their music.

Whilst there may be people in the world who don't like Slash, I doubt either of them will be at Download

This is going to be a freaking fantastic festival. Why the hell can't we have an amazing fest like this with all these kick ass metal/hard rock bands in the US? Instead, we get Coachella with all of its indie/hipster garbage. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't remember when the US had a fest this good (not including any big 4 shows).
