According to Blabbermouth.net, original Korn drummer David Silveria was arrested for DUI in Huntington Beach, California this past weekend. According to police records, the 39-year-old musician - who played with Korn for 13 years - was arrested on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Silveria recently joined forces with Anyone members Riz Story and Miki Black in a brand new project called Infinika. David left Korn in late 2006 in order to focus on family life along with running his steak house and sushi restaurant. In December 2009, David changed his steak house into the rock and sports-themed bar Silvera's Rockbar and was said to be no longer 50 percent owner of his sushi restaurant, having agreed to sell his half of ownership over to his ex-wife after a year-long court battle. During a 2010 interview, Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer stated that David "has sold or gave away all his drums. I heard he doesn't even own a drumstick anymore."

Because he was a PASSENGER and was ejected due to the fact that he wasn't wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened. Sheesh.

How about he does what he wants with his life and not let it be controlled by fans who feel entitled? Although drugs are not the way to go.

DWI is driving drunk. DUI is driving under the influence and covers a broader spectrum of offenses.

He was a damn good drummer, what made him quit? I also heard he became a model...

That's too bad. I hope he just made a mistake and it's not a sign of bigger problems. His drumming was pretty cool, especially on the first couple of Korn albums.

Actually DWI would refer to the broader spectrum as in drug impairment. DUI is when you are over the legal blood alcohol limit to operate a motor vehicle. Unless its backwards in United States, thats what it is in Canada

I was arrested for DUI recently. Let me tell you, just because someone was arrested for DUI, doesn't mean they were anywhere near being drunk. Sure, the legal limit is 0.08%, but, depending on your size and level of tolerance, that could mean you're basically sober. Hell, I'm a huge dude, and I can walk straight, see straight, talk straight, and think straight after seven shots of whiskey or rum. But the police and judges don't care about those factors. Without knowing the circumstances, I can't judge whether he was being retarded, or he had a couple glasses of wine, and was otherwise perfectly okay to drive, and simply got unlucky. Being arrested for DUI also does NOT equal a conviction. He could very well be innocent. Innocent, until proven guilty, as the law goes. Usually. So, no judgment, just hope it all works out for the best and he's learned something from it.

David is in a band called Infinika. They have a new single coming out soon. So, he hasn't quit drumming. He just went on hiatus for a few years. Infinika:

He wouldn't be the first, Dan Spitz from Anthrax walked away from the music world, gave all he's guitars away to 'theme' restaurants and become a professional watch maker.

If it was really at 10:45 am Sunday then he probably had slept at some point.

I'm not the one claiming I know what happened. I'd actually appreciate someone who claims to know what happened to Chi finding a credible source of information. In every article I've ever read about the accident, they kind of dance around the specifics of the accident.

yes, it's backwards here. Of course, the definition changes from state to state.

DUI = Driving Under the Influence DUI covers drugs, medications, mixing medications with BAC (blood alcohol content) under the legal limit also falls into this category. You get tagged with this charge if the cop decides you are driving impaired, but you're not necessarily drunk. DWI = Driving While Intoxicated Means you're driving with a BAC over the legal limit, you're drunk in the eyes of law enforcement if your BAC is 0.08% or above. Both offenses are rather serious if you're proven guilty. A friend of mine got slapped with a DUI with a BAC of 0.07%, but the cops found prescription drugs in his car, so they assumed he has taken them. He did not take them (as he says) since the day before and they were already well out of his system. He could not prove this, it was his word against the cops word and of course the cop wins. He lost his license for 3 months for a crime he didn't commit. 0.08% is like one beer, it's ridiculous. Most people who drink just every once in awhile have enough tolerance so that one beer doesn't effect you hardly at all. The legal limit for BAC is just going to keep getting lower and lower too.
