Former QOTSA Bassist Nick Oliveri Involved in a Serious Car Crash

"He was shaken up, and you can probably see why if you look at the car," reads the announcement.

Former Queens of the Stone Age bassist and current Mondo Generator frontman Nick Oliveri was involved in what seems as a rather serious car accident late Monday night (June 24).

Oliveri's current band announced the news on the Official Facebook Page with a set of accompanying photos, sending their frontman "many many well-wishes and hang in there's."

Just a glimpse at the photos is enough to demonstrate how serious the crash was, so it comes as a great relief that Oliveri is reportedly just "shaken up," which is "nothing he won't recover from."

"We're sending many many well-wishes and hang in there's to Nick," reads the official announcement. "He was involved in an auto accident late Monday night. He was shaken up, and you can probably see why if you look at the car, but it's nothing he won't recover from. Get well soon brother!"

Oliveri was fired from QOTSA by frontman Josh Homme in 2004, but has reconciled with his former band and even gave contributions on their latest record "...Like Clockwork." The album dropped on June 4 via Matador Records, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 91,000 copies sold in the US within the first week.

what is it with bass players and car crashes?
Wish Lil Wayne one day learn to play bass.
Just because you don't like someone's music doesn't mean you should wish for them to get hurt, or potentially die.
Thing is that what he makes is anything BUT music.
... in your opinion. I really don't like his music either, but to claim that it isn't music is every single kind of stupid. I don't like mango, but that doesn't mean it isn't a fruit. EDIT - Not sure if I posted the reply in the right place. My comment is for jpcl.
At least Oliveri was, presumably, wearing a seatbelt, otherwise this may have been a much different story. A shame that we're down an excellent bassist - a rare enough thing already - because of such a silly thing as not wearing a seatbelt.
Well, at least it's good to hear he's nowhere near death or something, and that's a thing, considering how the car is immensely ****ed up. Get well, Oliveri.

Looks like the car rolled rather than hitting another driver. I hope Nick didn't hurt anyone else
Journalism today = get up, go on facebook, cut & paste stuff you find, put your name at the bottom, email to your boss, go back to bed.
    Woman beating piece of shit.
It's funny how some of the Homme worshipers are still holding a grudge against Nick for something that allegedly happened a decade ago, even though Josh and Nick are friends now.
