In what might turn out to be the preview of upcoming Queensryche court settling, singer Geoff Tate has made adjustments to his official website and is now presenting himself as "the voice of Queensryche."

Further hinting that he no longer has rights to the Ryche moniker, the Todd La Torre-fronted edition of the band is referred to as "Queensryche without Geoff Tate" in the site's navigation.

As recently reported, Tate and his former bandmates have reached the settlement in the legal battle. Without revealing specific details, guitarist Michael Wilton noted that the case is definitely over.

"That's coming up," Wilton told Allentown Music Examiner. "What I can say is that both sides have reached an amicable settlement and it's now just a matter of time. There will be an official press release, but for now, you'll have to wait."

The official announcement shouldn't take too long now, stay tuned for more info.

If this is true, good. It's in his vest interest to be prevented from damaging the brand any longer.

I bet his next album will have really small font reading "Geoff Tate of..." and then big ass letters reading "QUEENSRYCHE" across the top. He seems like that kind of guy.

Seems that way, I mean look at his website; "Queensryche without Geoff Tate" Why didn't he just go with the less self-absorbed option and call it "Todd La Torre's Queensryche"?

Well, calling it "Todd La Torre's Queensryche" would be kind of weird since he's been in the band for the least time of the five.

Just have both bands change their names or something. Geoff could easily use his own name and tour/ record under that. The band could change their name OR just make people realize Queensryche has a new singer. Get over it!

Why? Everything people liked about Queensryche is in the Todd version (albeit, not AS strong as the 80s stuff) and there's been literally nothing redeeming about Tate's music al idea's for the past 20 years. They're average, but he's god awful. Todd can sound exactly like him and that's all there is to be missed from him at this point, so I think Mike and co are totally right to keep the name.

Speak for yourself. Having said that Geoff Tate could in no way fill venues under his own name. People know the brand Queensrÿche. It's the name that sells. And I'm pretty sure that if there is only one Queensrÿche, that people will know that they have a different singer.

The problem there is that Duff,Izzy,Steven and Slash signed off the name rights to Axl because he was threatening to scrap tours. Rather than being sued by promoters they saw the writing on the wall and just gave the name to him, which inretrospect they never should have done. This story is explained in detail in Slash's book. Axl basically extorted the name from them.
