No mention for Motorhead? Through sickness and health scares, Lemmy gave us a f*cking brilliant album that proves he'll never hold back. That needs to be honoured!
"Most Dedicated Fans" obviously the Sevenfold fans who stuck with them since that god awful release
    Aryan Death Man
    No Alter Bridge?
Fortress was a brilliant album—IMO, better than most of these nominations.
We all know A7X are gonna win because they're the band the little girls are following right now.
You could've said that about the beatles, and pretty much any rockband until the neckbeards took over.
Such an original and unexpected comment on UG(not). Just accept that they achieved fame doing what they love. I really don't see the problem here.
Lol "just accept" I'm not in denial about anything, I used to like A7X but now they're just an overblown over rated band who've somehow become much bigger after releasing their worst record so far.
And your comment is such an unexpected comment from an Avenged Sevenfold fan, I bet you also think that their latest album is a tribute to their heroes and not a complete rip off.
I don't see it either way. I think it is good album. Not their best, but sure as hell ain't bad as you people say. I prefer their self-titled and Nightmare, but it is still good album. And they deserve the fame they got. They are very honest with their music and don't listen to anyone. I mean, just how many bands can create things like A little piece of heaven. And worst thing of all is there are people i know who are afraid to admit that they love some of their songs because they would labeled as mainstream fags. I mean, how low can people go...
Dude. They change up their sound every album since REV died because they don't really have an identity as a band anymore. They do what will sell and then justify it as "branching out" or some such crap.
Incorrect. Waking The Fallen to City of Evil was right out of left field. City of Evil to self titled was also a bit of a switch away from the 7 minute songs. The way I see it, they're doing what they want.

i dont think so. i use to like A7X but this album is the blandest thing ive ever heard and i know very few people who disagree and they have been long time fans as well. I'd say Homme might walk away with this...or at least I hope, he deserves that shit so much and I know people of all tastes who I play that album for and they love it. And everyone I know whether a QUOTSA fan or not who i haven't had to show it to thinks its amazing
A7X is one of the most overhyped shit out there. I also used to be a big fan of them, until everyone else started listening to them and going crazy about them. It's not that they are terrible, it is because so oversaturated. I don't want to contribute to it.
This viewpoint literally makes no sense. Because they became popular you can't bear to listen to them anymore? Wuuuut?? Why not just not give a **** and listen to what makes you happy. All this "I HATE(INSERT BAND NAME HERE), THEY SOLD OUT BECAUSE THEY HAVE AN EXPONENTIALLY GROWING FANBASE AND CAN SELL OUT ARENAS" is just nonsense
    Guns N' Chains
Thought that was Black Veil Brides? Edit: I'm a big A7X fan. Not my favorite, but definitely a band I enjoy and keep up with. Should be proud for the success they have as at least they bring hard rock/metal back to the forefront and mainstream which is relatively dead nowadays. Hell, I don't know what I'm trying to say, but some probably understand what I mean haha.
I love the comeback section, I get the fact Sabbath and Purple are older bands, ok I get it, and not that I'm a huge fan of QOTSA, but they haven't been around long enough to leave let alone come back. what am I missing?
These nominees are just ridiculous... At least Deafheaven made the "Best New Talent presented by Victory Records" category...
If the awards are being held on April 23rd... how are they being aired "live" on May 25th???
if its sooooo easy to make music like avenged sevenfold., then just for the sake of making a sh t ton of money. why dont you do it. the answer is because you cant, or you would, but youre most likelt some douche bag kid living in his moms basement, so write a couple easy crappy poppy metal ripoff songs and be a millionaire, get to travel the world, and maybe not make your girlfriend pay for a meal for once, anyone would do it in a heartbeat. and all music is personal preference, some of the shit you guys named is absolute garbage, but you and the nine other fans will talk shit about real bands. when A7X has millions of fans and your band cant sell out a 500 seat club, did you ever think theres somethin wrong with you, not us. or you must be so smart that only you can get the bands music, but everyone else in this world is lost.....? i hope your mother is still alive... because im sure shes probably the only person who will truly care about you...
Although i'm sure all the nominees are great musicians, it's still sad to see how little bands formed after circa 2000 were nominated. The metal community really is only looking back instead of forward... Please don't come at me with that "there are no good bands formed afteer 2000" bullshit. People only look at the 'mainstream metal' à la Avenged Sevenfold or Asking Alexandria when it comes to modern metal
That's because new bands are way too into being "true" whatever. They only care about technicality and sticking to the super obscure pseudo-masculine bands. I'm no fan of Asking Alexandria, but they are way better than those other smaller bands that are making music for a select group of people.
    Guns N' Chains
Much respect to Tuukka Rask, goalie of the Boston Bruins. Never knew he was a huge metal fan. As a Pittsburgh Penguins fan, I've started to despise the guy over the recent years but now he has just gained a ton of respect in my book. Tuukka, you're okay my friend.
Glad VH1 Classic is getting this. Its a great music channel that actually shows/plays music!
A7X completely ruins the list. Hail to the king = Best cover album of the year !
