I don't think I can take this ceremony seriously by how many blind votes have been given to Avenged Sevenfold...
I love Avenged, but it's kind of ridiculous how they are nominees every year. They need Protest The Hero.
so do I, man. I love Avenged and I didn't altogether hate the new album. but come on, Johnny Christ nominated as best bassist? Arin Ilejay as best drummer? what a crock.
I would rather see Children of Bodom get nominated for something than see Avenged Sevenfold get nominated for anything. No offense
Avenged Sevenfold best drummer for hail to the king if I remember those were drums anyone could play
So every drummer is suppose to play fast complicated parts? As long as they sound good then that's all that should matter. Arin has a good reason to be in this category, he's now taking the place of two great drummers, the Rev and Mike Portnoy. This isn't just about his performance in Hail to the King, he's been playing with them since 2011 and is capable of playing all their other songs. With that said he gets my vote.
    What a joke...
This whole show is basically another attempt to tap into a demographic that normal crap award shows don't reach. Hmm.. they wont watch the crap grammys, so we'll give them some garbage that pretends to be about rock.
My choices: 1....Like Clockwork 2.Papa Emeritus II 3.Jerry Cantrell 4.Geezer Butler 5.Mike Portnoy 6.Definitely Gojira 7.Hollow 8.Through the Never 9.Heaven's Basement 10.Queens of the Stone Age (wouldn't really call it a comeback though) 11.Derek Garland (Not into sports but look at the beard!) 12.Slayer

I saw Gojira perform with Slayer last November and it was incredible. Gojira was definitely the best band that night, though I was still happy to see Slayer. They play with such intensity and they play it perfectly. It's clear that there's no studio magic there. They're extremely talented.
    sir qwerty
Motley Crue nominees in Best Live Band? Good joke...
Its stuff like this that makes this band so full of their "its all about the rock, maaan! we used to be so hard in 80's man, nobodies like this anymore" crap. I feel this list was half compiled by competent, modern music fans and the other half were people who were paid to make sure these certain bands made these few bs categories. Like, what's up with best bassist, aside from geezer and rex, what do any of these other guys bring to their sound other than a low end to the guitar-wall?
Ugh, the Pretty Reckless. Now I get to hear my fan girl sister of mine freak out the entire show. I'm not one to complain about Avenged Sevenfold, but every applicable category? Best Drummer, honestly?
    Guns n roses performing? Really?

I'm more surprised that Axl is getting the lifetime achievement award than hearing they are performing.
somethings telling me once they go on the crowds gonna just head off. I wouldn't pay full price for a festival if the headliner was gnr; unless it was fronted by an axl-sound alike, then why the hell not. I cant stand to listen to any of the youtube vids, i can only imagine what its like live anymore
i think killswitch engage should have been nominated for best comeback album. the band never quit, but its still a comeback in the sense that the original line up is back
Hmm.. what about Alter Bridge they are pretty tallented and Myles Kennedy has one of the best male voices in my opinion however this is just my opinion
Sabbath - Homme - Cantrell - Geezer - Adler - Lamb of God - AIC Hollow - Lamb of God - Twelve Foot Ninja - Sabbath - Grant Balfour - SLAYER
Thoughts: Avenged is gonna sweep, love em or hate em, it'll happen. Why is a most dedicated fans award necessary for an award show based on voting? Heaven's Basement is one of the best bands to come out of the UK in the last 20 years. And I sure hope they told Axl that he goes on at 5:30 so we don't need to wait until three AM.
Why is Protest the Hero not winning all of those categories. Why are they not even nominated.
Will be great to hear and see Axl in a different setting (not just a concert) excepting the award. Wether or not people like him he is a rock legend.
If Like Clockwork doesn't win album of the year, I'll eat my left testicle.
Dang, Alter Bridge and Killswitch both got snubbed. They are more deserving for recognition than alot of bands on here. FFDP? They get more terrible and generic with every release...
I listened to Of Mice and Men... do people actually think that crap is good music? My, how the standards for rock music have fallen. Seems like everyone with a guitar thinks they can make music these days. Songwriting is an art that takes dedication just like learning an instrument.
I have a strange feeling that these awards are going to be dominated by Sabbath and A7X, out of pure popularity reasons.
Album of the Year will probably come down to either Avenged Sevenfold or Five Finger Death Punch, unfortunately. I'll still be rooting for ...Like Clockwork, though.
