Iron Maiden have announced their next world tour, starting with a huge set of US dates. The "Maiden England" US tour will kick off in June and end in August after 28 performances, before continuing around the world. It will mirror the original 1988 concert video of the same name, in terms of production and content, making it a must-see for any Maiden fan. "We have great fun playing the History of Maiden Tours because it gives us an opportunity between new albums to go out and play songs from our earlier catalog," said Bruce Dickinson in a statement on their website. "Our intention is to play about two thirds of the original track list of 'Maiden England' including some songs we have not played live in a very, very long time, plus other favorites we just know the fans are going to want to hear!" The band are keen to avoid fans being scammed by ticket touts, so they will arrange a paperless ticket system for at least the front section to avoid fans paying inflated prices. I think its only Coheed as the opener after July 21. Its Alice Cooper before that.

So, what about the people who weren't alive back then? This is a huge chance for them to see things they never got to see.

Maiden owes it to their US fans. They haven't played this many dates in the US in a long time. Settle down, they'll play in the UK in 2013. The rest of the dates outside of North America will be in other parts of the world in 2013.

Uhm maybe they're doing the same tour they did 20+ years ago so the people who weren't alive back then or who weren't able to go to a show back then to see it or for those who were at an 88 show to re-live that day maybe?

is it wrong that i get teary eyed knowing Iron Maiden is coming to Texas a few days after my birthday and that I will be going!(?)

I may have to plan on going to the Denver show with Coheed opening for them. I would be able to die happy if both bands were on stage for The Trooper. Coheed does a pretty damn good cover of it.

I wish these guys would come closer to KC. 8 1/2 hours is a long drive.

I don't understand how you don't like the older concept. Maybe you're 25-30, and your favorite band is Maiden. When you look at older tours, such as Powerslave, you wish that you were around for such an epic show. When they bring these back, it's like bringing back the past, and that's what a lot of people wanna see!!!!

No they don't. Just take the long drive to Indianapolis or Chicago. I saw them in Chicago with Dream Theater, well worth the pain of a long drive and renting out a hotel. Unless of course you think Alice Cooper is as overrated as I do and don't want to spend that much money to be spooked by a fake hanging
