Fans might see some radio-friendly singles from metal veterans Iron Maiden in the near future. Guitarist Adrian Smith says the band are looking at working on shorter songs after recording a series of lengthy tracks.
Smith told that he always admired the way Hendrix, Free and Thin Lizzy produced perfect three-minute singles.
"They did some great singles put things into three minutes, which is a difficult thing to do, but it can be done. We've been writing longer for some reason. Maybe next time we'll do some shorter stuff but it's difficult to look into the future too far."
As for bandmate Bruce Dickinson's pilot skills, Smith says he has no concerns letting the multi-talented singer fly him round the world.
"Anything he does, he gets right into it and he does it really well. And he does it for a living, it's not like he does it as a hobby" he said. "I've seen him check out flight plans, literally just before a gig. It's like, "We've got to go on stage in a minute!" But he can switch on and off. He's very professional. It's amazing."
