Jack White will mark his wedding anniversary with british model Karen Elson in typically weird fashion - with a divorce.
It won't be a time for tears, because the pair will be making celebration of the event, according to a joint statement.
"We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee," the announcement said. "We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow."
They first met on the set of a White Stripes music video for "Blue Orchid", and in 2005 married in Brazil. They later had two children, aged five and three.
Invitations to their "divorce party" asked guests to "celebrate their 6th anniversary and their upcoming divorce with a positive swing bang hum dinger" at a party in Nashville, and requests that the friends and family invited do not bring "plus ones or dead beats".
Jack fronted his popular group The White Stripes until their split earlier this year. He is ranked at number 17 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time.
