Discussing her track "F--ked My Way Up to the Top," Lana Del Rey admitted sleeping with a lot of people in the music industry, calling it annoying that none of them got her record deals.

Asked by Complex to comment on the tune, Lana noted, "It's commentary, like, 'I know what you think of me,' and I'm alluding to that. You know, I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying."

Prompted to name the worst relationship advice she ever received, Del Rey added, "That love doesn't come easily and that relationships are supposed to be a struggle. Everything else is so hard; hopefully love is the one thing that is actually fun."

Discussing her success and a number of gold and platinum records she had accumulated so far, the singer kept a modest stance, saying, "Yeah, but I still didn't find that community of people I was looking for, like the way Bob Dylan found his friends, or the respect of being a writer.

"Because that gold and platinum stuff, it doesn't mean as much if you're walking down the street and you can hear people saying things about you. That doesn't even out," Lana concluded.

"F--ked My Way Up to the Top" comes off Del Rey's latest studio effort "Ultraviolence." Released on June 13, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 182,000 copies sold in the US within the first week.

I can get you a good record deal Lana, if you come and sleep with me. Of course I'm a record exec, honest. We'll talk about it afterwards though, OK?

As my boss always says "It's not who you know. It's who you blow"

Oh my god, now I'm always going to think of Metallica's "Holier Than Thou" with these lyrics.... Thanks a lot!

    This is depressing.

I'm 95% certain she's trying really hard to become "controversial" and "eccentric", and it's quite amusing.
    seance
Or she's just talking candidly about her life.
    TheLiberation
Come on, there's a difference about "talking candidly about your life" and borderline trolling. Which is what she's doing, regardless of whether it's true or made up. And I'm also on the fence, trying to decide whether I find this brilliant or stupid.
    filipe26
It's definately stupid. But having been a borderline troll myself, what she's saying is probably very true. If not all, at least most of it.
    Way Cool JR.
So what she's saying is she really didn't f--k her way up to the top. All that f--king basically got her nowhere but off.

I need to get into the music business.

    Wanna be fvcked, right?

I would love for some gorgeous record executive to bang me in my tight little ass hole with his fat juicy cock.

No, no, by all means, please go on. I think this is another Ulysses in the making.
    BjarnedeGraaf

Jesus Christ on a bike, you honestly can't see how else they could've got where they are? How about the fact that what they produce is pretty much exactly what's in fashion right now? Or at least, was when they were at their commercial peak. I mean, do you think One Direction or, what, Robin Thicke had to shag people to get record deals? The companies sign people producing whatever's in fashion, it saves on marketing.

haha gross, it really makes you disgusted that Nicky Minaj probably boned Lil Wayne. Thats probably why she hasnt admitted to it hahah

Wanna know how to tell that someone never gets laid? They're threatened at the idea of women having casual sex.
    seance
Yeah, this article has really brought out the sexist remarks in UG. Women can have sex too. It's not a big deal.
    RC52190
What bothers me about this is not the fact that a woman has casual sex, but rather she expects something in return for it. As if she "did him a favor" Bitches act like ****ing a dude means he owes them. Gold-digging, ***** behavior. Women who have casual sex 'cause they like it are more than fine by me. This slut is just using people.
    dewitt
Or joking. Or telling people the controversial statements they're dying to be the first to print.
    seance
I think you missed the point of her quote. You're sort of the perfect example of proving what she means.
    blackleo89
This! These comments are way too angry for something thats not a big deal. The industry revolves around this kind of stuff.
    TryTheKetchup
I remember the single comment that I've seen around the date she revealed she had been working with Auerbach on 'Ultraviolence.' That comment asked: 'Do they fvck each other?' Now I think that guy was a prophet.
    mattjamesrenn
makes sense, wasn't there an article on here (I know I'm lame) where she said they fought a bit during the recording. I only fight with women I've shagged.
    Sleaze Disease
So, she claims she wants the "respect of being a writer", and yet, she felt the need to ***** herself out to everybody and their brother? How can she possibly rationalize that way of thinking? That makes absolutely zero sense. Also, you know why Bob Dylan had a lot of cool friends? He didn't write shit music and he didn't use sex to try and get fame without actually doing anything to warrant it.
    Crofty89
Well she didn't get her record deal for her musical ability. She must have some dirt on someone pretty high up in the industry.
    Bollockser
Glad she did all that f*cking. She's a hot redhead and redheads are rare, glad she spread the ginger love around.
    Sixxstarr
Who the **** cares...people do this kind of stuff all the time...this isn't news
    bigjulrich
I know a lot of people hate her but shes on of my favorites. Not enough people give her credit because they judge without listening to alot of her music but shes a very amazing singer and shes just awesome. Wish she didnt seek so much attention though :/
    joelmo
if i could i would hire them all..... However.... i'm not a record producer... and there is no job.
    TheForthcoming1
If this was a guy or a famous male rock star posting that he slept with a lot of females execs (i.e. think of, as an example, Dave Grohl, Lenny Kravitz, Gene Simmons, Mick Jagger, Tom Petty, etc) it really wouldn't be a big deal. Double standards going on. Plus it's Lana Del Rey.
    paulroxx
Actually, people would still frown upon the fact that those male rock stars only got record deals for sleeping with female execs. You're full of shit.

I love Lana her first album is awesome and so is the new one but I really wish she would stay away from interviews and social media and keep a cool mysterious vibe cause everything I read about her makes me not like her at all, she put on a great live show when i saw her in may, she and her band make incredible music...listen to pretty when i cry off the new album you'll know what I'm saying
    mop10893
Love isn't easy but Lana Del Rey is. Seriously though, why does anyone pay attention to her? She's stupid and untalented. I came on here just to make a joke.
    Anjohl
God, she's worse than Stephanie "lady gaga" Germinotta for being manufactured and fake.
    Eissari
Why alot these female artist try to be wild and out of control to get attention?
    Spenner2810
I thought this was a guitar music website ? Why all the focus on "here today-gone tomorrow wannabees" nonsense ? I'd rather read about how Jim Root gets his tone or read an interview with Nils Lofgren about being in Bruce Springsteen's shadow when he can out play him with his eyes shut. What's next ? Lady GaGa and BabyMetal discussing bra sizes ? Come on UG - leave that shit to someone else and give us guitarzzzzz
    Shavyi
"If we can't even be produced anymore if we ****, where is this world going ?". This is ****ed up.
    Wolfscar
Isn't she sending sexism back to 50 years by objectifying herself to the music executives? Not that I care.
    ledzep426
I feel like she is trying to make up a legacy that she hopes will live on after she has an early grave.
    GeekInThePink
I think Lana Del Rey is a character she (Elizabeth Grant) plays and writes music as. I don't think Elizabeth Grant actually did this but Lana Del Rey has a song about it so of course she has to tell the story.
    aliceinnirvana
Way to call her a ***** or a prostitute or stupid or worthless, way to keep it classy guys. She's just saying that she has an active sex life, like many of you so clearly do not, and that it didn't get her any special perks. This is a good thing. If women weren't comfortable having sex you wouldn't get laid, so maybe we can stop with the shaming. And there are crappy male musicians who get record deals all the time and no one ever says "who did they ****?" because it's a stupid question.
    Dewde
"I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying." I think that goes pretty explicitly against what you're saying.
    seance
It's called irony. The article doesn't do a good job explaining how she meant it. She's annoyed by the belief that people think she "slept her way to the top" to get to where she is. The way she explained it (saying she's ****ed a lot of guys in the industry, but that it's irrelevant to her overall career) was a blunt way of making you guys squirm.
    dewitt
I'm sure there has never been a statement you've made, whether totally serious or completely joking, that could be written in text with no context or subtleties or gestures or laughs, etc., that could be taken totally different from the way you meant it. Also, you've probably never been ambiguous.
    aliceinnirvana
Yea but man I'm pretty sure the quote is taken out of context. She's critiquing the people who judge her by claiming she slept her way to the top. What's annoying to her is that people perpetuate this line that women sleep their way to the top, but her experience has shown her that this claim isn't true, or at least is not true for her, yet she still has to deal with the claim, which is annoying. I don't particularly like her or her music, but again, I'm pretty certain this was taken out of context. It's also likely that she really doesn't care if it's taken out of context because she probably wants the publicity for making a controversial statement.
    Chickendirt
The irony that UG will never understand because of their obsession to hate Lana. It's not a serious comment or song. She's been mocking everyone of you people who comment on her being a slutty diva. Another click bait article by UG
    siamesedream777
If that's true well... yeah she may be a prostitute of the industry, but...C'mon it'll be hypocrital saying that, cause i wanna **** her so bad too...
