Lana Del Rey: 'I Slept With a Lot of Guys in Music Industry, It's Annoying None of Them Got Me Record Deals'

Discussing her track "F--ked My Way Up to the Top," Lana Del Rey admitted sleeping with a lot of people in the music industry, calling it annoying that none of them got her record deals.

Asked by Complex to comment on the tune, Lana noted, "It's commentary, like, 'I know what you think of me,' and I'm alluding to that. You know, I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying."

Prompted to name the worst relationship advice she ever received, Del Rey added, "That love doesn't come easily and that relationships are supposed to be a struggle. Everything else is so hard; hopefully love is the one thing that is actually fun."

Discussing her success and a number of gold and platinum records she had accumulated so far, the singer kept a modest stance, saying, "Yeah, but I still didn't find that community of people I was looking for, like the way Bob Dylan found his friends, or the respect of being a writer.

"Because that gold and platinum stuff, it doesn't mean as much if you're walking down the street and you can hear people saying things about you. That doesn't even out," Lana concluded.

"F--ked My Way Up to the Top" comes off Del Rey's latest studio effort "Ultraviolence." Released on June 13, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 182,000 copies sold in the US within the first week.

I can get you a good record deal Lana, if you come and sleep with me. Of course I'm a record exec, honest. We'll talk about it afterwards though, OK?

As my boss always says "It's not who you know. It's who you blow"

Oh my god, now I'm always going to think of Metallica's "Holier Than Thou" with these lyrics.... Thanks a lot!

    This is depressing.

I'm 95% certain she's trying really hard to become "controversial" and "eccentric", and it's quite amusing.
    seance
Or she's just talking candidly about her life.

Come on, there's a difference about "talking candidly about your life" and borderline trolling. Which is what she's doing, regardless of whether it's true or made up. And I'm also on the fence, trying to decide whether I find this brilliant or stupid.

It's definately stupid. But having been a borderline troll myself, what she's saying is probably very true. If not all, at least most of it.
    Way Cool JR.
So what she's saying is she really didn't f--k her way up to the top. All that f--king basically got her nowhere but off.

I would love for some gorgeous record executive to bang me in my tight little ass hole with his fat juicy cock.

No, no, by all means, please go on. I think this is another Ulysses in the making.

at least she's honest about it. you are not going to tell me that Nicky Minaj or Kesha got up top without doing this shit... The things people will do for fame...

Jesus Christ on a bike, you honestly can't see how else they could've got where they are? How about the fact that what they produce is pretty much exactly what's in fashion right now? Or at least, was when they were at their commercial peak. I mean, do you think One Direction or, what, Robin Thicke had to shag people to get record deals? The companies sign people producing whatever's in fashion, it saves on marketing.

haha gross, it really makes you disgusted that Nicky Minaj probably boned Lil Wayne. Thats probably why she hasnt admitted to it hahah

Wanna know how to tell that someone never gets laid? They're threatened at the idea of women having casual sex.
    seance
Yeah, this article has really brought out the sexist remarks in UG. Women can have sex too. It's not a big deal.
    RC52190
What bothers me about this is not the fact that a woman has casual sex, but rather she expects something in return for it. As if she "did him a favor" Bitches act like ****ing a dude means he owes them. Gold-digging, ***** behavior. Women who have casual sex 'cause they like it are more than fine by me. This slut is just using people.

Or joking. Or telling people the controversial statements they're dying to be the first to print.

I think you missed the point of her quote. You're sort of the perfect example of proving what she means.

This! These comments are way too angry for something thats not a big deal. The industry revolves around this kind of stuff.

I remember the single comment that I've seen around the date she revealed she had been working with Auerbach on 'Ultraviolence.' That comment asked: 'Do they fvck each other?' Now I think that guy was a prophet.

makes sense, wasn't there an article on here (I know I'm lame) where she said they fought a bit during the recording. I only fight with women I've shagged.
