Lost Radiohead Track Revealed As A Hoax

A lost Radiohead song has turned out to be a hoax. Just prior to the end of 2011, it was reported that a song had been discovered that was from the "Bends" era of the band. It was said to be titled either "Putting Ketchup In The Fridge" or "How Do You Sit Still". But now it's been revealed as having nothing to do with Radiohead. It's actually a song called "Sit Still", which was recorded Canadian singer-songwriter Christopher Stopa, who is now a baker! He says of the confusion: "It's kinda funny that, out of the blue, after not doing music for a few years, with no band and not having played in about a year and a half, this all of a sudden pops up out of nowhere." If you fancy hearing the song, here it is. Thanks for the report to ClassicRockMagazine.com.

The last laugh definitely goes to jaymkultra, who got like a billion thumbs down in the previous article for saying that it wasn't Radiohead.

What annoys me is the stubborn people that kept claiming that Thom said it was their song. There was never an interview that had such claim. Stop pulling crap from your asses fans.

I thought it was one of the best Radiohead songs I ever heard, so props to the guy. Maybe the only reason he didn't get big was because he didn't sound like something new, but his songwriting is obviously brilliant

Credit to the guy, but how typical of UG's news section that a story which has been on the main page for over a week turned out to be wrong....

Its awesome that people have went back to change it and now it has no thumbs down at all

In another thought,Stopa should rework that song, adding a bit better tones for guitars, clearing them out,a few tweaks maybe..this can be a hit for ****s sake, the guy surely shouldn't be just a baker.

Meant to be directed towards my comment, I thought the laugh smiley worked. UG comment section really really needs an edit button.

What's wrong with being a baker?! A noble profession. Providing bread for the masses.

Well, this is probably great for him. It's crazy to see that a song he recorded years ago is suddenly getting recognized because of a fluke.

Wow. That was a damn good song. He had me fooled, and I'm a HUGE Radiohead fan.

THe other thing that had everyone fooled was that CNN said they confirmed it was a radiohead song before changing their mind and finding the real guy
