The Mars Volta's Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, David Elitch and Cedric Bixler-Zavala reunited earlier this year and collaborated with Red Hot Chili Pepper's Flea to form Antemasque. Their debut record is available for digital purchase today, and you can can stream the whole thing below.
Originally, the band only planned on releasing the Flea-featuring "4AM," but after the largely positive response, they went ahead and prepped a full LP. "If the whole thing looked unplanned, that's because it was," the band said in a statement. "The anticipation of what the reaction from fans and critics would be was very real for us with every new song we put out."
Bixler-Zavala was quoted as saying, "The Mars Volta and At the Drive-In had a baby, and it's called Antemasque," a pretty accurate statement that's sure to attract fans of those bands' past work. Take a listen for yourself by streaming Antemasque now.
