As Mastodon have announced another epic US tour with Gojira and Kveletrak, guitarist Bill Kelliher added a cherry on top, confirming he'll be giving guitar lessons to five fans on each of the trek's stops.

"Bill Kelliher will be offering a one-hour guitar lesson/hand to five people on each of the tour dates below at the venue from 12 noon to 1 PM. Please email me if you are interested - butterslax@hotmail.com," the Facebook announcement reads.

The band is currently busy promoting their latest studio effort "Once More 'Round the Sun," with a series of global concert dates stretching from this month through mid-December. Details and ticket info here.

During a recent Reddit AMA session, drummer Brann Dailor discussed the band's new approach and vibe, confessing that he understands fans who bash it. "I understand the stance," he said. "I feel that way towards some bands. Especially when an artists career is long. People gravitate to specific albums.

"But, being in a band you have a different take. You can't be too concerned with the outside world. If we appease the fans of our earlier albums and made a record that sound like them and the fans hated it, we'd be frauds. It wouldn't be rewarding for anyone," the drummer added.

The people who end up going to these things are always over weight women who are obsessed with the band and have never picked up a guitar before.

FYI to all interested in this: I emailed to sign up for one of these, and what he/they/whoever failed to mention is that it cost $100. Just so you know, it isn't a free hang-out deal. You have to pay for it.
