Megadeth have officially announced details of their upcoming world tour, set to kick off on April 12 in San Diego and stretch across three continents over four months.

The mentioned April 12 performance marks frontman Dave Mustaine's appearance with the San Diego Symphony, after which the band will continue touring in the US, South America and ultimately hit Europe with June 6 show in Sweden. Make sure to check out the full itinerary below.

As the official press release reads, Dave seems quite excited about the symphony gig. "I love the challenge," he said. "I really admire this genre of music because of the level of skill required and there are great dark undertones in these incredible pieces. The marriage of two such distinctly different genres is one thing, but cross-pollinating different societies is a whole new level of badass!

"I'm used to them being before me, but it's a bit unnerving to know so many talented eyes will be on my back," Mustaine continued. "It's a bit intimidating, and to be given the opportunity to interpret these melodies - to meld what I am best at with what they incredibly present, it is a great honor."

I hate it when bands announce a shitload of festival dates and call it a World Tour or Europe Tour or whatever. If the band is the only one I'm interested in on the bill, I don't want to pay 100 bucks to see them play for an hour in a festival set up...
    My Last Words
Well, most of the time you end up paying 100 bucks to see alot of great artists. Just look at the line-ups for Hellfest (Clison) or Graspop. Cynic, Meshuggah, Death, Black Sabbath, Megadeth and Alice in Chains + more tba all on one day for €85 - I'll take it. Ofcourse, it varies per festival, but there are some really good deals here and there.
I don't know if you saw the Australian Soundwave lineup. Had some great bands but it was headlined by Green Day.
Wait a minute tour and several continents are skipped and australia ..aint a world tour ..wil I ever see them live
Don't buy a ticket. They'll cancel within a weeks notice. For the shittest reason too! Australian fans are very let down!
Studying abroad in Italy when they're playing Milan! FUCK YES!!! I hope you Italians can open the pits up!
meh. Get marty and nick back in the band and I mean be interested. I've already seen this lineup twice and to be honest, its boring the second time.
I'm supposed to see MEGADETH tonight for the first time here in Manila. I'm disappointed it is postponed and still no final date announced.
