Metallica & Lady Gaga Will Perform 'Moth Into Flame' at the Grammys Tonight
21
A snippet of this year's Grammy Awards program has surfaced, revealing that tonight's show will see Metallica and Lady Gaga will perform "Moth Into Flame" off the band's latest album "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct."

Talking about how the collaboration came to be, Gaga previously told Zane Lowe: "I was at Bradley's house with Lars and we were just hanging out...

"He's amazing. I've gotta tell you something: I went to see them live. I mean, I've seen them a couple of times live, but I saw them live recently, and we were watching the show and I'll tell you something, those guys play better than they've ever played in their whole lives."

The show will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Stay tuned.

Man I'm glad I'm over 15 and no longer hate all non-guitar music for the sake of making myself feel special. Gaga's an all around fantastic musician, this should be a match made in heaven.

I agree completely. I love Metallica, I'm not a huge fan of Gaga, she has some nice songs, so I'm interested to check this one out!

Not a Gaga fan at all but this live acoustic performance blows me away.

Yep, the lil' kiddies act like if something isn't metal it's automatically shit even though there's a lot of metal that is complete shit.

I agree. I'm a huge Metallica fan and I don't like Lady Gaga's music at all, but I'm looking forward to watch this performance because I know that Gaga can sing and she's a talented artist.

I'm well over 15 and hate her because I find her computer generated music nauseating. Her act is just a rehash of many of stars that have done it much better than her. But thanks for being a smug asshole!

I think everyone on this site has some issue with her music because of the fact it's commercial "computer generated" music. And I'm in that camp too. But I don't deny for a second that Gaga is a very good musician who can play many instruments, sing beautifully, and write great songs. Those qualities are things that I respect in an age where there's so much insincerity and fakeness. Sure, I wished she would get a real band together and express herself fully, but she made a business decision and knew how to capitalize. While I disagree with her decision, I can't really fault her. And I'm excited to see how she does with Metallica.

    1. Generalizing evereyones opinion and then insulting them for it. 2. Calling out someone for a stupid commit. So how is that calling the kettle black?

If their performance with Lang Lang taught me anything, it's that Metallica will be completely upstaged.

Gaga's right...Metallica sounds tighter than they've ever been...watch how they did Moth Live..spot on vocals..and overall vibe sounded heavier than the studio version..

Damn, you're right. I've been disappointed with their playing of their older material lately, but it seems like they're pretty much just a different band than they used to be. They play the new stuff incredibly well.

I would rather they had Metallica-ized one of her tunes. That "Perfect Illusion" song would have been the one to do.

I would be surprised if they don't still don't that to some extent.

lookin foward, gaga's vocal range is better than most of metal singers. #ignorance_is_bliss

Yeah Gaga is talented and I like some of her stuff but I'm always siding with metal musicians!

I'm sure you don't know Bruce Dick,

UG users have gotten so bad the last couple of years they'd probably poll Gaga over Bruce. It wouldn't surprise me at all.

You're saying this to a user than has been registered for longer than you :l
    pressureproject
New to the internets? I've been on here since 2003, son. Not that that means anything....but I think I know what UG used to be. If you have the same account for more than a couple years on here, you're doing something wrong.
    rossw01
Why would you not keep the same account..? Also how can we trust what you say?
    GenerationKILL
Yep, before I question anything UG users think, I remember these are the same idiots who voted that the guitarist from Pearl Jam is better than Eddie Van Halen. I'll never forget that. It was the day I stopped taking anything seriously from this community.

It'll be an interesting version. Hopefully this will bring metal into the public eye a bit more and bring in more fans. She's also a great singer so I'm hoping for the best.

Don't tell me people are suddenly realizing Metallica are still a good live band. Lol, their Nimes dvd has been around since 2009 I think. You can find it on youtube I believe...

Look at all these people saying, "I'm not a fan, but she's an amazing musician/singer and her records are well-made & here's this one performance that I really like" Bitch, you're a fan.

Everyone knows Grammys are a joke, I wouldn't take this seriously at all.
