Metallica's inaugural Orion Music + More festival continues to grow.

The event has announced the addition of Kirk's Crypt, a showcase of guitarist Kirk Hammett's passion for all things horror - vintage film posters, movie props, collectibles and more... all hosted by The Ripper himself.

Explaining how he first got into horror movies, Kirk explained, "Five years old; I sprained my arm so I couldn't go out and play. I was sequestered inside because I had to recover from my arm. Turned on the television; the first horror movie I've ever seen was on that night - 'The Day Of The Triffids'. I saw that movie and, from that point on, I was just hooked... those are the type of movies I gravitated to."

Kirk's Crypt joins other features at the event, including Ktulu's Rock 'N' Roll Emporium, a marketplace with dozens of vendors selling memorabilia; and, the Orion Custom Car + Motorcycle Show, curated by frontman James Hetfield, which is set to feature over 300 of the best Customs, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars and Custom Motorcycles on display inside the festival grounds throughout the weekend.

Orion Music + More happens June 23-24 at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

He probably doesn't give a **** how he looks.

Featuring one room with a kid and a beach ball so you can kick the ball and make blood come out of the kid's nose.

I forgot to lower my speaker's volume and started the video. While it was loading, I opened another tab and Creeping Death apparently started playing out of nowhere! "Might as well put it louder..."

I can't help but like Kirk. Sure, his skills are always debatable (where would he be without his wah pedal) but he was my hero when I was a kid and he's always seemed like a really cool guy.

When I read "Kirk's Crypt", I immediately thought of a room of dead wah pedals..

and he's definitely rich, he's just saying that seven figures on an old cape is a gross misuse of money when he could do something useful like give to charities or something

This is genuinely Sounding like a cool festival. Wide variety of bands (even tho metal-snobs haven't stopped whining about it) and other cool attractions as well. It's basically verging on being an old school variety show!

This is like a Metallic amusement park! The slogan could be "Where Nightmares Come True"

Once again, another really cool edition to the Metallica show. And yes Kirk does look rather old and tired in the video, but big deal, it happens, we get old. Kudos to him for not using his money to get plastic surgery like a bunch of other piece of shit celebrities.

Sounds pretty cool. I like how the festival is more than the music. A lot of stuff for everyone to check out when they don't feel like watching the band that's playing and whatnot. Sucks I can't go though, oh well!

metal is about music not how you look

That zoom-in-zoom-out effect is giving me a headache. Anyways this is actually really awesome. It's not just "saw and halloween" and really obvious, tired film series. This is underground and even classic horror shit. Seeing that he has a Cat People poster alone gives him a thousand awesome points. I want to go to this and to Orion actually. I wish I could.

it's nice to see a famous figure not trying to look like he's 20 again and embracing what he is now

This festival actually has a pretty cool line-up in my opinion. Looks like a lot of psychedelic stuff and a good amount of doom metal. Only a couple crappy bands in my opinion. Sure not EVERYTHING is standard heavy metal but metalheads needs to learn that there is OTHER good music out there.

seems cool but i met him once in my teens and he wasn't very nice. kind of disappoinitng since he was a real inspiration when i was a kid. maybe he was just having a bad day.

Looks better than when he cut it school boy short and started wearing make-up.

Shit, man... I know New Jersey sucks, but it's still technically in America. Just because we wish it wasn't there doesn't mean it's not there anymore.

Because nothing says metal like getting your hair colored.

If somebody is willing to spend 4 figures on a movie prop, I'm going to call them super rich.

And as an Austinite, I like seeing Roky Erickson, Gary Clark Jr. and The Black Angels in the line-up.
