Jon Wiederhorn of the MTV Music Blog recently conducted an interview with Faith No More frontman Mike Patton. In addition to plugging his latest musical adventure, "Mondo Cane", an album of '50s and '60s Italian pop songs performed live in Italian with a 65-piece orchestra, Patton talks about his reasons for getting back together with Faith No More, and why there are no plans to create a follow-up to Faith No More's 1997 record "Album Of The Year". The podcast can now be streamed using the audio player here. Patton recently spoke with ArtistDirect.com about reuniting with Faith No More after 12 years and what their music means to him now. Patton said, "To be honest, I never thought that I would ever revisit that stuff again. After some reflection and speaking with the guys, I realized, 'Well, wait a minute. I'm not embarrassed about it (laughs). It's still good music! Is there a way that we can still pull it off and do it justice?' So we rehearsed! When we rehearsed, I realized this is good and I feel great about it." Patton added that the public's interest in seeing the band again after more than a decade was "staggering" to him, explaining, "Basically, there's more interest in us now than when we were an active band, which is really strange, kind of haunting and maybe a bit morbid, but it also inspired us." Faith No More officially reunited last year and played several European shows and festivals. The band played at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on April 17 in Indio, California. Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

The only thing that sucks about them is Patton. He's kind of arrogant, especially his whole "The Chili Peppers stole our sound even though they came out seven years before us" thing. Good sound though, and they do a sick cover of hand of doom.

Say what you want about him as a person, but he's one of the most talented/diverse vocalists alive in my opinion

I love Faith No More but they went out on a real low note with Album of the year,a CD that gets next to no coverage in my stereo. Should give us another one to end their career on.

I don't think there would be any problem if we see any FNM material in the future. And the other way around, I'd be OK with the fact that FNM never released anything ever again. BTW: FNM =/= Mike Patton. IMHO, the band's core is Roddy, Puffy and Billy.

Dude, ALBUM OF THE YEAR is great! Underrated. It is a "grower," I'll give you that much... I didn't know what to make of it the first few times I heard it but repeated listens helped me develop an appreciation for it. Come on, "Ashes to Ashes," "Stripsearch," and "Last Cup of Sorrow" are some gems... give it another try!

I have owned it since it came out and I know FNM albums have to grow on you but this one never did. Honestly the only song I can get into on that album is Naked in front of the computer.Even in that tune the chorus takes away a little bit.
