Nickelback will begin a North American tour Feb. 25 in Nashville in support of its just-released Roadrunner album "Dark Horse." Tickets go on sale Dec. 5 via LiveNation.com, but Nickelback fan club members get first crack on Friday (Nov. 28). Seether and Saving Abel will support on the jaunt, which runs through April 23 in Columbia, S.C. "Dark Horse" is expected to debut tomorrow in the upper reaches of The Billboard 200. First single "Gotta Be Somebody" has sold 570,000 downloads in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Asked recently by Billboard why Nickelback opted to wait to tour until next year, frontman Chad Kroeger said, "We've been bitten too many times by going out too early. I'm always adamant about making sure there's at least a true rock song from the band that's gone to radio, just to give a more diverse selection of music for people to listen to. "We've been consulting with some people; I'm interested to see someone else's take on what this band could look like live, and we've had some real interesting stuff come back," he continued. "I think we're gonna try some stuff that, believe it or not, no one has ever done live before." Thanks for the report to Billboard.com.

I'm going to see SEETHER... then leaving before nickleback gets on stage. at least I won't have to deal with getting out of the parking lot after the show. I just hate the fact that I'm giving nickleback money, I hate them....and not because its "cool" to hate them, I hate them because I hate them, period. Seether Rules though.

The new album is awesome, and yeah they put a great show, not a huge fan of them but their live show was pretty sick.

Nickelback really do put on a good live show. I've seen them twice and, while I really don't like much of their newer music, I still have respect for them.

I clicked the link to have a laugh at the automatic, ignorant flaming of a popular band, but it's actually been pretty mature so far. I second those who said they're a great live band, because they actually are just that. If they have 4 songs on a top chart, it's because people want to listen to them. If no one listens to your songs, it's your problem and yours only, don't blame a hard working, successful and professional band.

I love Nickelback! All the songs I've heard are great in one way or another. I definitely want to go see them live, I've never been to one of their concerts so I hope I get to go this year. Nickelback rocks!!!!!

Seether and Saving Able are cool too so I definitely get something good out of the concert: 3 of my favorite bands performing live, I wouldn't miss it for the world!!!

I don't care about Saving Abel; sounds to me like they just took the leftovers from Hinder and 3 Doors Down and made do. Seether is one of my favorite bands, as is Nickelback. I would totally go see Seether a second time and Nickelback a fourth.

This is awesome! Nickelback and Seether are like my two most favorite bands ever and they'll be touring together, I'm deffinitely going!

Chad Kroeger one of the best songwriters of our time? Yeh right... You need to listen to music outside of mainstream to see real talent. Mainstream does not mean it's good music. And as for an absolutely brilliant live band to see...go see Sigur Rs...then you will be blown away...and then compare them to a band like this for talent and a live show...

I'm not entirely sure why everyone hates Nickelback so much...from the interviews ive seen of Kroeger, he hasn't come across like a d*ck... If the songs are so easy to write, then why haven't you done it...? Fair play to the bloke... and 'mainstream' means he's shifting a f**k load of albums, i.e people like them! YES, it may never be as technical as some stuff, but it's always going to be more popular as it's accesible... [though the excess of songs about going out/sex on Darkhorse annoy me...]

Is anyone else really disappointed that Seether and Saving Abel are opening for Nickelback? I love those two bands, but I'm not going to pay a Nickelback concert price to see them open.

ugh Im sick of hearing about nickelback. Theyre always on the top rock songs on itunes and always have the top music video thats like a year old! Right now they have 4 songs on the top 10 rock songs. Thats not right!

lol ever notice that mainstream bands only tour with mainstream bands, it must suck to see the same 3 bands every year going to the same places

Agreed people judge Nickelback on the song 'Rock Star', it is actually a good song, over played very much but it got very big for a reason They are good live, if they hit the UK with Seether i will definitely go see them

"Plot"... they make it sound like they're planning some diabolical scheme or something.

In related news I am plotting a tour of places not to be on certain nights. I wonder if they are going to overlap?.....

I saw Nickelback a few weeks ago in Birmingham in the UK, and they were possibly the best live band Ive ever seen. So many people on here just hate them cause they're so damn good!!! The new album is funking great, they're really hitting the rock/metal genre hard... just because they've made metal catchy means they're rubbish apparently.... you find me another band who gets one song played as much as Rockstar!!! sure its boring now, but to get where it is is pretty special!!! Chad Kroeger is one of the greatest songwriters of this generation. fact!

each to his own and all that but i really dont think you should call them metal i'd say they're just rock/ hard rock they are a decent band and i do like some of their songs but they're definately not metal lol

Lol, they had to remove 5 comments already and there are only about a dozen. That's gotta tell you something UG...
