Pantera's Vinnie Paul: What's My Relationship With Phil Anselmo in 2017

Vinnie Paul was asked on Rover's Morning Glory on his relationship with Phil Anselmo - with whom he hasn't spoken since 2003 - to which he replied (via Blabbermouth):

"I'm beyond Pantera. I've done so many other things with my life since then.

"And I always believe if you live in the past, you have no future. So, man, I'm happy doing what I do with Hellyeah, and I'm gonna leave it at that."

After the host asked if we can safely assume that that there are no circumstances under which all the surviving members of Pantera would ever get back together, Vinnie replied:

"That's a pretty damn good assumption. Yeah, man. [Laughs]"

Asked about Rex Brown's 2013 book "Official Truth, 101 Proof: The Inside Story of Pantera," in which he was described as "a strange person" who "was always all about the 'party, party, party" but "only got laid maybe one out of ten times," Vinnie replied:

"All I can say is that...

"I'll refer to Philip's comment about Rex's book: A bunch of mythology, man. We don't know where he came up with all this. More power to him, man."

Dimes shoes are as big as Texas, no one could fill them, not even Zack Wylde. Let's stop speculating and lay this subject to rest. They could never do a reunion, never will do a reunion. Even if there is a guitarist(s) out there who has the technical proficiency Vin and Phil will NEVER bury that hatchet.
It seems like he's living in the past anyway, hanging onto old grudges with no fresh/new perspective
Exactly what I was thinking. Why don't they honor Dime by getting past all the BS.
To all the people who are criticizing him for being against the reunion: if that band's guitarist was your brother and he got shot in front of you, you wouldn't want to go back to that either.
One day they will be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. It would be a shame for them not to come together for at least that.
Vinnie Paul has more time behind him than in front of him. Once he sees death's door, he'll be running to the past faster than a cat in water.
Just wait until one of them is craving the fame and fortune they once had. It will fizzle and they will want to be relevant again.
My favorite band. No one could touch them they created a whole new level of music. Back in day all of them especially Dime loved the fans and said they nothing with out them. Vinny lost that. If roles were reversed if the fans wanted it and dime was alive it would happen
