Pearl Jam Announce Fall US Tour, New Single Coming This Thursday
21
As the countdown on their official website reached zero yesterday, Seattle rock veterans Pearl Jam have finally made a big announcement, confirming a fall North American tour. But there's more, as not only is now there a second countdown running on the website, but the band is also set to release new single "Mind Your Manners" this Thursday, almost an entire week earlier than expected. The single was previously expected to drop on July 16. As Alternative Nation reports, local Virginia radio station will get to host the world premiere of the new tune, with an official announcement saying "Thursday, listen to Tamo at 3:00 p.m. for an XL102 World Premiere of brand new Pearl Jam music!" Meanwhile, the five-piece also gave somewhat of a hint when it comes to the new record's front cover with a Twitter post showing not much more than a white circle on a black background. Whether or not the photo is related to the upcoming release yet remains to be seen. As far as the tour itself goes, the 24-date concert trek will kick off on October 11 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and stretch all the way to December 6 and the Seattle, Washington, major performance. You can check out the full itinerary below. As the tenth record in the Pearl Jam opus, the yet-untitled album should reportedly most definitely hit the shelves by early 2014, possibly even during the current year. The group's current record, "Backspacer," saw its release in September 2009 via Monkeywrench Records. With 189,000 units shipped in the US within the first week, it peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart as the only independent label chart-topper of the year. Pearl Jam tour dates are: 10/11 - Pittsburgh - Consol Energy Center 10/12 - Buffalo - First Niagara Center 10/15 - Worcester - DCU Center 10/18 - Brooklyn - Barclays Center 10/19 - Brooklyn - Barclays Center 10/21-22 - Philadelphia - Wells Fargo Center 10/25 - Hartford - XL Center 10/27 - Baltimore - 1st Mariner Arena 10/29 - Charlottesville - John Paul Jones Arena 10/30 - Charlotte - Time Warner Cable Arena 11/1-3 - New Orleans - Voodoo Music + Arts Experience 11/15 - Dallas - American Airlines Arena 11/16 - Oklahoma City - Chesapeake Energy Arena 11/19 - Phoenix - Jobing.com Arena 11/21 - San Diego - Viejas Arena 11/23-24 - Los Angeles - Sports Arena 11/26 - Oakland - Oracle Arena 11/29 - Portland - Rose Garden Arena 11/30 - Spokane - Spokane Arena 12/02 - Calgary - Scotiabank Saddledome 12/04 - Vancouver - Rogers Arena 12/06 - Seattle - Key Arena

As a huge Pearl Jam fan, i was disappointed. Way too much fuss, with the countdown and everything, for a simple tour announcement. I hope the second countdown marks something more out of the ordinary.

Nobody announces an entire tour all at once. The European dates are probably being planned right now.

I can imagine there being something of a great local music scene, but if you happen to be into scandinavian black metal or something you're pbbly screwed

    Dang it, no Boston :-(

Quit crying and go to Worcester. Nothing even close to the Midwest... now that's a real problem.

You americans got it good, i'm on eastern canada and it's a 3 day drive if you don't stop to get to the closest Canadian show. I'm literally better off going to buffalo, pittsburgh, worcester, etc. than seeing them in my own country.

Worcester has character. Feels like a big city downtown but easier to navigate, great place for a show like this.

I agree...love Worcester. I'm originally from Townsend, Mass and would hit up Worcester all the time. Lowell was a dank-ass place to be as well, or hit up Hampton Beach in New Hampshire during the summer...every once in a while a big band would play on the beach there and it was killer!

ugh, nothing within a 500 mile radius of me! I live in Wisconsin and the closest concert is in Chicago in 10 days, tickets are currently like $325 on stubhub. I got on the internet and waited for those tix as soon as they went on sale, waited for a hour to actually get on the page I was supposed to, only to read that the concert had been sold out. Immediately afterwords, tix go on stubhub for $250, and they were original sold for at most $60.

I look at the tickets close to me, $124 dollars. Wow, I love Pearl Jam but didnt they fight against ticketmaster for charging too much money. I would love to go, but I cant afford to put out that kind of cash.

Rule to bands: if you hit Texas on your tour, don't make ****ing Dallas of all places your only Texas date.

North American tour is right. They aren't coming to the SouthEastern portion of the country at all.

Charlotte or New Orleans? Granted if you're in Florida or south Georgia it's a long ways off.

I haven't really followed PJ in a few years, but it's good to see they're still recording and touring. I respect any band that has been around as long as they have.

Skipping my home of the Kansas City area, but Oklahoma City is about a 5 hour drive and that show is on a Saturday. I've made my mom into a PJ fan, maybe I'll be able to talk her into going

How much could one realistically expect to pay? I'm totally down. Just saw Soundgarden in May, Worcester is great place to call home.

these are not all of the dates. they haven't announced a Detroit date either, and they will most certainly come here. so don't worry people.
