Pearl Jam have announced that they will be headlining this year's Voodoo Music Festival alongside the reunited Nine Inch Nails. Set to take place between November 1st and 3rd at City Park in New Orleans, this year's festival marks the 15th anniversary of the event.

Other acts confirmed for the festival include: Paramore, Afrojack, The Gaslight Anthem, How To Destroy Angels, Alkaline Trio and Robert Delong.

The festival appearance is the third tour date that Pearl Jam has scheduled for this year. The band is currently working on their latest album, which is scheduled for a late 2013 release. Guitarist Mike McCready recently noted that the band's latest album will encompass a variety of different influences including Pink Floyd and U2.

"Matt [Cameron, drummer] wrote a really cool one that's kind of ethereal meets U2ness, I wrote kind of a punk rock one and a Pink Floyd thing, so there's all these kinds of things going on. Ed [Vedder, vocals] has written some beautiful numbers, some kind of garagy type stuff and then also some beautiful lyrical kind of things. We'll put all of those things in the Pearl Jam thing, and hit mix, and mix it up."

I'm super excited because this probably means that NIN will be playing Austin City Limits... What a great year for music.

Trent Reznor wasn't content with being Voodoo God in one band, so How to Destroy Angels got booked as well. How do you destroy angels, you ask? By being God, Trent answers.
If anything says NOLA, it's Pearl Jam....not.
Lets see, the evenflow video was shot in New Orleans, and Eddie Vedder almost died from alcohol poisoning after a show in NOLA. I would say you have no clue what you are talking about.
That doesn't mean anything. I took a sh*t once in Seattle, and I can promise you I don't belong there.

Lots of things get filmed in New Orleans, and lots of tourists piss away money in her myriad bars and nightclubs and wind up in the hospital or face down in the street, it doesn't make them New Orleanians. Pearl Jam is as New Orleans as Exhorder is Seattle. Congratulations are in order to the Voodoo organizers for their 15th consecutive underwhelming lineup.

You misspelled Alkaline spelled it Gaslight Anthem.

Sorry if this seemed like a dig at GA...just trying to communicate that I'd be waaaaay more stoked about the Trio. Those guys flat-out wail in concert.

Its just The Gaslight Anthem is one of my all time favourite bands, only heard a few songs from Alkaline Trio and they were decent... But yeah overall a good lineup.
I guess I'd probably go, if the ticket was free and somebody paid me.
