Comedian Ricky Gervais has promised fans that he will soon be announcing a number of David Brent gigs, NME reports.

Gervais played his debut live show as his character from "The Office" last October, performing as David Brent & Foregone Conclusion, with a backing band that included former Razorlight member Andy Burrows.

Brent – best known as former boss and "chilled out entertainer" at Wernham Hogg in BBC sitcom "The Office" – turned his hand to music last year, having revived the character for the BBC's Comic Relief and issuing an online series, "Learn Guitar With David Brent," the character's first recurring role since "The Office" concluded in 2003.

Now, Gervais has taken to Twitter to reveal plans for more shows in the UK. See the tweet and the media below.

Last year Gervais performed two shows at London's Bloomsbury Theatre, as well as one at Bristol's Colston Hall. After massive demand for tickets, he hinted at a show at London's O2 Arena, tweeting: "Oh well, O2 next then :)."

Ricky Gervais is trying anything to stay relevant. He's had his 15 minutes with The Office and that was over 10 years ago. He's unfunny and is trying to ride that bald prat from An Idiot Abroad's fame. Plus his constant "bath pics" on twitter are insanely childish. inb4 negavotes. i understand you're all 14 and think he's funny. i bet you laugh at "penis" and "boobs" too.

Unlike you, Ricky Gervais is not a bellend.

DANNY i've had your back on many a thread where your bellendary has been slaughtered and you repay me with this. you're the bellend.

Apologies dude, I appreciate all you have done to defend my bellendry but if I see something I very much disagree with it's not in my nature to hold back. I'm a big fan of Ricky Gervais and "that bald prat" Karl Pilkington...so there you have it. XD

I'm also with Estranged on this one - unfortunately; Ricky Gervais is a right toss-pot.

Extras, An idiot abroad, Lifes to short, Derek all acclaimed shows whether remade into an american imitation or not. He does it short, sweet, and always hilarious. Don't know if he has ever cared to much about "relevant".

Well, I loved The Office and Extras, and An Idiot Abroad (most of the credit there going to the K-Man, admittedly). I even love his stand-up routines... and the old XFM shows and podcasts are the best thing ever. But anything from Life's Too Short onward is just garbage. He set the bar too high for himself and then came up waaaay too short (no pun intended). Derek is just completely terrible and it needs to stop now.

Derek was great. Not laugh a minute but I don't think that was the point. Beats most other British comedy on tv the last couple of years.

I'm not 14. The Office? Try the 11 O'clock Show - that's where he initially made his name (along with Sasha Baron Cohen). The Office was one part of his career, just because you don't find him funny doesn't make you right - just different taste.
