Comedian Ricky Gervais revealed that several major record labels have approached him with the offer to make a record as his popular "Office" character David Brent.

As Gervais posted via his Twitter account, he's been getting "ridiculous offers" from around the globe, without revealing any specific info regarding the labels.

"I can't believe I'm getting ridiculous offers from major record companies all over the world for a David Brent album," he tweeted. "Where were these people when I was trying to be a real popster? And starving?"

Gervais originally played the role of Brent during two series of the "Office," but now brought him back in an online guitar tutorial series titled "Learn Guitar With David Brent."

"It's been so much fun bringing back David Brent and have him philosophise on Youtube, and spend all his hard earned repping money on still trying to become a pop star," the actor added. "It's funny and sadly true of today's X Factor culture."

Gervais is a damn good songwriter and performs in character brilliantly. So many musicians take themselves much too seriously. The Learn Guitar With David Brent series is a breath of fresh air.

Yeah, wasn't he in some sort of discopop duo or something? *quickly Googles* Seona Dancing. Thought I'd read that somewhere.

I love the pictures of Gervais from his 80s electro pop days. One (almost) hit wonder haha.

Ridiculous offers... so any information if he's going to take an offer? Would love to hear an album from him, or rather David Brent
