When it comes to Metallica merchandise, there is apparently no Thing That Should Not Be. In fact, the Big Four headliners have just announced the upcoming release of a product even suitable for family game night: Metallica Monopoly.

That's right, James Hetfield and company are joining the ranks of KISS, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles with their own licensed version of the popular Parker Brothers/Hasbro board game. According to the band's official website, the game will be available next week.

No Battery necessary.

Thanks for the report to Gibson.com

*snort* GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *snort* Thanks, I needed that. Great stuff. I'll have to tell that joke at work. Either way. Stupid idea. I'm fine with my regular Monopoly, thanks.

oh dear, this isn't going to change any stereotypes is it? Still considering buying this though, might be hilarious

C'mon. If you're saying this is just for money then you must be stupid. This is just a fun thing! Doing it for money would be failing as musicans, not selling any records then having to lower yourself to endorsing various low quality products on TV.

slaveskinJACKET : Pretty sure the sell out comment was supposed to be like a joke, like a Chance card. Don't be so defensive. Plus, they sold out a long time ago, but the Black Album wasn't so bad. It was just when they continued further down that path that their music became fairly uninteresting. This is just profiting from their endeavors. To me, Death Magnetic and St. Anger were both more of a sell out than this, or anything else they have done; they purposefully changed/played music that doesn't seem like it was necessarily the music they felt inside, only to please other people... not that it worked with St. Anger, when they were trying to be trendy, but everyone else seems to love Death Magnetic. I think Load and ReLoad were much more interesting. Also, that game cover is hideous. I totally agree with this person on everything.

Ummm.... isn't selling out when you change your musical style to get a bigger audience? Not profiting from your hard works in various other sources?

Hmm. I had a crazy idea. This can't be the real reason of course... But JUST saying, there may be a teensy weensy possibility that... it's more about them wanting a game made after them and not money. They have the power to have this and they thought it was pretty cool. But of course that is out of the question. Everything that is ever done ever is to sell out or get money. People just think about it for a second. Wouldn't YOU want a game made after you? Common ****ing sense guys. Not everything is for money.

why does it say "joined the ranks of kiss"? I know it just means they both have monopoly games but that statement just sent me to st.anger, and didn't even let me pass go or collect $200
    Travisixshot
I love the comments of all this they sold out. lmfao I wish I had my own monopoly board.
