Ultimate-Guitar.com is proud to premiere a brand new Slash video for "By The Sword." The song comes from the legendary guitarist's latest album "Slash," and features Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother on vocals. The video was shot April 3 and April 4 in the Los Angeles area. As previously reported, anyone could participate in the filming process as a part of the concert crowd. Several photos from the photoshoot are available at this location. A live video of Slash and Andrew Stockdale performing "By The Sword" at The Roxy in L.A. on April 10th can be seen at Slash Online. At the show, Slash performed new songs from his new solo album together with GN'R classics such as "Civil War" and "Paradise City". "Slash," the album, scored the highest new entry on The Billboard 200 chart, with first-week U.S. sales of around 60,000 copies. The LP was released in North America on April 6 via EMI Label Services. The album features an all-star roster of guest musicians, including Ian Astbury, Chris Cornell, Rocco DeLuca, Fergie, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmister, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Duff McKagan, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, and Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother. Watch the official "By The Sword" video below!

First thing I thought of when the video and music started.

if any guitarist is overrated then it must be angus young. and kerry king isn't that great either.

um slash is married with two kids, his wife would probably divorce him and take his kids. awesome video tho

lmao. that's EXACTLY what I thought from the moment it started.

Really dull song with an incredibly insipid solo. I hoped for more. Plus Stockdale just sounded like he wanted to be Chris Cornell. Disappointed.

It's what everyone is thinking after all. I remember Axl did some fan Q&A when Chinese Democracy came out and no one was asking Axl what his fave food was. Plus Axl called someone a C***
Don't ask him about gn'r haha last thing he would want is to hear about gn'r ask him about vr

I was thinking the same thing, and then i seen your comment hahaha. Anywys i don't this shoulda been a single. It's very led zeppelin-ish and it's very awesome but i think he should have picked somethign with more energy

i do sorta think slash is overrated, but i really like this song although i was expecting a guitarists solo album to have more guitar in it but this song is pretty bad ass.

andrew stockdale, coolest man alive. those are definitely his lyrics.

This is a great single! The beginning is epic and the chorus is definitely epic. This song is fantastic, but the video was a little strange for my taste. Really looking forward to seeing more singles, maybe Beautiful Dangerous? Slash adapting to all of these very very different singers is such an amazing feat in the music world! Keep it up Slash, you are the man!

I'd say more like She Builds Quick Machines, it's just kinda Slashes thing, the ol' steampunkish videos nowadays.

Yeah I know what you mean, UG seems kind of obsessed with him, which is fine (as long as they don't resort to stalking).

Lovin' the new album, a lot of different styles but still got that Slash edge to it! The video is pretty cool, keep at it Slash your a legend and always will be!

First thing that came to my mind when I saw this video wasn't Borderlands, but steampunk. Sweet idea for a video, I loved it.

Problem with chinese democracy was not the musicians it was way, way over done and it showed so much. This album on the other hand is get in a studio, knock out an album and have a good time and of all the years democracy took to make. This album just comes across more genuine and fun and that it was rock n roll is about.

Horrible drums. Horrible. The song's not bad, but the drumming work is so terribly slow and simple and weak...

By the way, on the subject of Ozzy..looking at his Scream album cover does anyone else think "Dio"?

really like the video, sort of a crossover between quick machines and slither, but i thought the guitar was quite quite on here compared with the levels on the album?

Andrew Stockdale and Slash sound terrific together, I hope they collaborate on other songs in the future. This was a rockin' single, and I loved the music video. It was everything you've come to expect from Slash.

am I the only one who isn't impressed...this leaves me yawning. It's not a very memorable song and in my opinion the vocals suck because his voice is annoying....literally the best part was slash's solo. He should have just done that the whole song.

sweet song, although i can't say im a fan of andrew though, suppose its not an easy thing to find a vocalist who can stack up to axl...just a shame he's become what he is now.

Slash still needs Axl. Slash hasn't done anything noteworthy since leaving GnR.

I was very VERY impressed and surprised with the song he did with fergie. she needs to be in a rock band. Musically this album is NOT as good as Chinese Democracy but this album is more fun to listen to. When you have buckethead and bumblefoot working on the songs along with robert finch and so on, its hard to beat that MUSICALLY.
    Axeman96
The albums better than chinese democracy, much more modern. I like this song but I think back from cali and crucify the dead are much better singles and would have sold more records.

I am really happy that the audio track for the video was remastered, because on the cd you can;t hear the vocals very well. Great video, The metal top hat was good.

Every song on this record is single-worthy; it's incredible! This one is definitely the weakest on the record, though...a good tune, but why make it your lead single? Hope the album is able to continue to gather steam; he deserves some serious crossover attention for this record.
    jannick
not enough girl on girl... other than that OK video. rock on slash!

Borderlands you said? :p ... It was the first thing that came to my mind! Great song and vid !!

I was thinking the exact oposite, this is a great song and the best track of the album, the rest is just meh
