Slash Performs 'Sweet Child O' Mine' For The First Time In A Decade

Rocker Slash performed the solo to Guns N' Roses anthem "Sweet Child O' Mine" for the first time in more than a decade when he stopped by the Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp in Los Angeles last week. The guitarist told stunned wannabe rockers taking tips from this year's camp advisers Roger Daltrey, Jack Bruce, Joe Walsh and Vince Neil when he agreed to "have a go" at performing the solo. The nervous rock star said, "I haven't played it since probably the last Guns N' Roses show, and that was in 1996. You just don't go back and play your songs unless you're doing them in concert." Thanks for the report to Starpulse.com.

it's a shame all you kids hate on Sweet Child like this. Take a listen to slash's playing on that song, it's pretty easy to hear that he didn't hate it.

Just my opinion, who agrees? Slash isn't training -_- "Last time 1996" or what he said... omg thats 11 years! Train Slash, there's already maaany better guitarists than you!

I wouldn't doubt that he didn't like it. I know when he came up with it he said it was something that you might hear as a circus... but axl liked it and they made it a song... damn sounds like a kick ass fantasy camp. Jack Bruce, Rodger Daltry, Joe Walsh, vince neil and Slash?... they're a drummer short of a super group lol.

all I can say is get a lifeee.... god, if this news is "so F***ing pointles" then why did you click on it and read it?What did you see the title "Slash Performs 'Sweet Child O' Mine' For The First Time In A Decade" and think, "wait! maybe its not actually about slash playing the solo to sweet child o mine for the first time in a decade, maybe its actually about blink-182 getting back together!!! O-M-G!!" seriously guys grow up. the title says exactly what the article was about. o ya, and scottk, guitar hero buddy, theres a difference between some loser no body playing a song on guitar hero, and a famous guitarist playing one of his most well known solos from his long gone band. its not the fact that he jsut played some song for the first time in ten years, its almost a monumentous thing,, liek what one guy said earlier,"thats a big deal for slash cuz it brings up his old memories of a great time he had"
    Bailean
o and slash is amzing although not to big a deal to people in general just to him i guess
    slashsnake221
dude .. thats a big deal for slash cuz it brings up his old memories of a great time he had.. so everyone whos sayin o big deal.. firs off lets see u play it as good as him and go screw urself
    Bailean
played that in guitar hero 10 minutes ago, big ****ing deal. last time i checked there is a difference between a guitar shaped controller with 5 buttons and an actual guitar with six strings which instead of batteries requires skills

Well I agree with slash because I hate sweet child o' mine more then any other gnr song.

I heard that slash got so obsessed with GH2 that he locked it in his closet... the kid I heard it from read it in some magazine

Correction 1993! 1994 was just a solo appearence by axl at some award cerimony thing.

lol what a special moment for the people who witnessed it, and a moment for Slash himself hope they all put their differences and grudges and whatever behind and just rock out a good tour again

Theres a difference between playing the most overrated song in the world, and writing/creating it.
    Decembero
He definately hates this song, and I only really like the solo, maybe he still kinda likes the solo too. But so what if he plays it again, I dont think this is news worthy.

I would have loved to see that. I would love to see Slash do anything in person. Yeah i guess it is a pointless article really, but it didn't make the front page as far as i have seen so it doesn't really deserve to be bitched at. It's just one of those nice little things that you hear sometimes, no harm in knowing he did it...
