Slash Won't Deny GN'R Reunion

Slash says any claims of a classic Guns N' Roses reunion are just rumors - but won't deny it.

He was referring to recent comments by keyboardist Dizzy Reed, which confirmed the original Gn'R lineup would attend the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction.

"I know that there's a lot of rumor about it, as always when it comes to Gn'R," Slash told radio station DC101 (via Ultimate Classic Rock), "but as it stands right this second, I have no idea what's going on."

Slash could be evading the question, but it could mean the band are yet to enter discussions on whether they will perform, as Reed also suggested last week.

"I don't know when or why or how to bring it up," Reed said. "It's not an every day sort of thing. So we haven't really talked about it - but I'm sure we'll have to at some point."

Still, it looks like a change of stance since December when Slash sharply denied giving an RSVP to the event.

Perhaps long-term tensions between old members makes it awkward to raise the discussion. With their induction on April 14 fast approaching, the original lineup of Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler and Slash will have to start talking soon if they want to rehearse in time for the big night.

Meanwhile, Guns N' Roses have added extra shows to their "Up Close And Personal" tour for next week, in Philadelphia, Miami and Lake Buena.

This will be the most viewed Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction in history. Everyone will be waiting for that first moment where someone loses their shit.

At this point I'd rather see Slash and Axl duke it out onstage instead of performing. That would make for a great show also.

Any time there is anything to do with any of them they make top headlines and 95% of the time they are just rumors dispelled by them in a short snippet or its just rubbish like a contraversial statement and so on. It just starts fanboy arguments and I'm sure someone on here will start on this. Any chance of some real news?
Sure, but it will be on what Dave Grohl ate for dinner last night

Vaca11, when someone refers to the original lineup of GnR, they mean the one which released their first Album which is Appetite for Destruction featuring: Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, Adler. Their time with Tracii Guns was short lived and they never released anything with him. They just kept the name cus it sounds good. There are a few reasons why a tour of the original lineup wont happen: 1)Unless Izzy has had a change in heart, he wont join the band for a whole tour. He doesnt like that sort of life. 2)Axl's musical differences with other members of the band would cause too much argueing and would in the end rip the band apart again. 3)Axl will want to play songs from Chinese Democracy. The current members being kicked from the band isnt a relevant factor to stop a reunion since theyre on a contract anyways that can be terminated. Good news is though however, if they do decide to play the RRHF, it wont be like Led Zeppelin's reunion where they were so out of practice it wasnt a great show. These guys have been playing GnR songs in their owns bands and occasionally with other members from the band consisting with original lineup members.

And like all great fights, there's great makeup sex, but in this case it'll be performing great music.

Well, I get paid tomorrow, so I'm definitely putting a healthy amount of money to one side just in case something does come of it. It's unlikely they'd tour, but if they did and I missed it, I would be pretty pissed.

It would be awesome if the original members of GN'R, even Slash, attend the Hall of Fame. But my question about it is "what if Axl and Slash fight once more"?

I don't even care what my mom says about it..if they play one song.."ONE SONG" I will party that night like they did...and probably die. XD In all seriousness...my life will be complete...to live to see the original G n' R play at least one song.

Agreed, Slash replaced Tracii Guns who was in the line up originally, but he wasn't there by the time they did Appetite For Destruction, and that's the line up that is being inducted. I'm still curious about the comment in yesterday's story where it said Dizzy Reed was being included in the induction. He DEFINITELY isn't an original.

Man it would be funny if the new GnR played while the old lot just sat and watched them butcher their songs. At least this might mean Buckethead will be in the hall of fame

Things like these made me give up on GNR. I mean, they were a great band until the mid-90's... now I can't even take them serious. Slash and Axl are both apparently bipolar and change their decision about a reunion everyday.

I'm not really a fan of the current GNR lineup, but it would be kind of unfair of Axl to just kick them to the curb and invite all the original guys back in the band again, even if it would be awesome. Just sayin.'

i bet they will reunite, oh big surprise, later a suprise tour and everybody talking and excited about it. So sad is rock and roll right now, a bunch of bands playing again (fat and old) to get money and without anything new to the scene.

which is one reason why im going to this the main reason is to see RHCP get inducted well them GnR and Beastie Boys but itd be awesome and sad to see them fight. I do hope that they put it all aside for just one night if anything... but if they do fight then ill bet on Slash lololol

Will never happen. Even if Axl and Slash become friends again (which I think they may if they were in the same place at the same time). Izzy doesn't like touring any more so maybe they'd play one show but a new album and full tour? How about no.

He won't be there 'cause my parents told me Vunter Slauche is just a childhood myth.

I like the part where the article says they need to get it together soon so they can rehearse. None of these guys need to rehearse welcome to the jungle, paradise city or sweet child of mine so an impromptu session is more than likely the way it would work if they decide to do it at all.

Jason Newstead wasn't an original member of Metallica, but he got in with them; I'm pretty sure that even Robert Trujillo got inducted with them. There are plenty more examples, but that's enough. I'm pretty sure Dizzy Reed and Matt Sorum will be inducted along with the rest of the band. Dizzy Reed became an official member before they recorded the Illusions. Teddy ZigZag is on those albums, too, and he also toured with them, but I don't think he was officially deemed a member of the band, although he would get introduced just like everyone else in the band. But that era was an extension of their original success. I think that's why it counts to the RnR HoF, and that's why I think they deserve to be inducted with the rest of the band (even though they were both essentially hired hands, being told what to play).

how long has there been a feud between slash and axl? and all of a sudden its all ok and talk of a reunion. dont think so some how

a reunion will never happen. They might sort their shit out, but play a gig? never. Could you imagine how embarrasing it would be for all involved if Axl was late or just didnt show up like he used to do? I doubt very much the other members would want to take that risk.

Just a one night thing is great. Besides that Axl has this incarnation of GNR that can keep ripping stages apart for years to come.

Who needs a GnR reunion??? Slash is jamming with Myles Kennedy. There won't be better music than that after it is released.

The current Guns lineup has 7 guitarists already what are you going to do with Slash and Izzy? not to mention Matt Sorum, and Steven Adler... and Duff Mckagan and the other 25 keyboardists they have now. What a joke. It would be nice to see, but unless they do something like the tribute to George Harrison tribute where they had two drummers and a about 5 guitarists on stage, this is just going to be awkward. Hell even if they did that I don't see how this is going to work. just simply not going to happen, oh c'mon 7 guitarists is just a overdose
obviously... The fact that Guns and Roses even has three guitarists and even ONE keyboardist in their band right now is a joke. There are so many freking Guns and Roses fanboys on this site its ridiculous. I'm not saying your one of them, and I'm not even saying I dislike Guns (I actually liked their first two albums) but what they are right now isn't even a shadow of what they used to be. I don't even care anymore if they get back together.
