Slayer guitarist Kerry King told AOL's Noisecreep that he hopes the "Big Four" tour featuring Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, the forefathers of thrash will expand beyond this summer's shows in Europe.

"I hope Slayer/Megadeth [American Carnage] tour is a precursor to the Big Four coming to the States," King said. "That tour it should be everywhere: here, Australia, Japan. Any place that wants it should have it and it should happen."

Regarding when such an outing might happen, King said, "Metallica has toured a ton and as much as we have going, we don't have a free moment in our schedule, so this is just me thinking out loud, but I'd say it would be great in summer 2011. If there are any talks, they are preliminary. And that's a time frame that would work for us."

When asked if there are plans for members to get on stage with one another to jam, he said, "I don't know. My closest friend in Metallica is [bassist Robert] Trujilio, who I've known from the [Suicidal Tendencies] days. I know the Megadeth camp a long time and played their first five shows, but we haven't spoken about it. I don't want to get ahead of myself. I'd rather anything be spontaneous."

Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

Haha good call. He's usually a jerk in general, but lately he's been pretty cool so I'm glad to see that. Plus, these guys must all be getting along decently well if they're touring together, at this point Metallica definitely doesn't need the money, and Slayer and Megadeth probably don't either after the success of their recent albums. I hope it goes well.

I have seen Slayer and Megadeth 5-6 times each. Seen Metallica twice. Never seen Anthrax.Could not care less about them. IF this show came to town in the big outdoor stadium than I think it would be sweet. If its in an arena I might pass.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who actually likes Anthrax. The Slayer/Megadeth/Testament tour sounds a lot better, and should definately come to the UK.

I am going to Carnage in Montreal this summer, which is 3 of the REAl big four IMHO, Slayer, Megadeth, testament. I can just see Metallica seperate one day.....who the **** cares about Anthrax?

I probably would not go to that. I've seen Slayer twice and Megadeth once. And Im going to the KC show with Slayer/Megadeth/Testament. I've never heard anything I liked by Anthrax - wouldn't watch them. Metallica was OKAY back in the day, but I haven't heard anything good off of their last 5 or 6 albums - wouldn't care enough to watch them. But then again, maybe, because of SLAAAAAYERRRRR!!!!

Imagine Kerry and Robert joining Megadeth on stage to cover a S/T tune... or Dave, Kerry, and James sharing the stage at once...

Come to the UK! I would be at the Prague date if uni didn't finish the day before (with an exam)

I wouldn't care how much tickets are or how far I would have to travel, I would go to those shows.

What does Kerry playing the first 5 shows 25 years ago have to do with anything? What an odd thing to say.

Better come to the US. It would be kind of odd if a tour made up of four American bands didn't come to America.
