Soundgarden Explain Story Behind 'Been Away Too Long'

Soundgarden break down the story behind their "Been Away Too Long" single.

Soundgarden recently released the highly anticipated first single "Been Away Too Long" off their forthcoming "King Animal" album.

Co-produced by the band along with Adam Kasper (Foo Fighters, Nirvana) and mixed by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool), "King Animal" is Soundgarden's first new studio album in over 15 years and will hit stores on Nov. 13.

In this Noisecreep video, we watch Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell and drummer Matt Cameron break down the story behind "Been Away Too Long", the first track on the "King Animal" album. There's also some cool live footage featured in the clip.

    I've always loved SG, they might be my favorite band of all time. This song blows. So weak. So disappointing... this and the Avengers song? I hope they don't tarnish their legacy.
    I think this is a great song...wth man?? I agree on the Avengers song tho, that song bores me.
    saw cornell twice, last year electric and this year with songbook and you can tell his voice breaks a little earlier than before. still an amazing voice, one of the best even today, and what i like about the new stuff is that it doesn't sound old soundgarden, it's new and fresh.
