Last month, we reported that Roger Waters was the second-highest paid musician of 2012, being beaten only by rap star Dr. Dre. When it comes to touring, though, it would seem that Bruce Springsteen is still The Boss. The New Jersey born singer outranked the former Pink Floyd man in terms of touring revenue during 2012, earning $199 million in the past 12 months. Waters made $186 million this year, placing him second in a list of highest-grossing rock tours which also featured Van Halen, Nickelback and Pearl Jam.
The full list is as follows:
1. Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band: $199m 2. Roger Waters: $186m 3. Van Halen: $54m 4. Dave Matthews Band: $41m 5. Red Hot Chili Peppers: $33m 6. Nickelback: $33m 7. Trans-Siberian Orchestra: $33m 8. Rod Stewart: $30m 9. Pearl Jam: $27m
Bruce may have won out in the rock stakes, but in a general poll, it was Madonna who was crowned queen. The pop star made $228 million from touring in 2012.
