According to Blabbermouth.net, Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios yesterday announced the voice cast for "Epic", a 3D CG action-adventure comedy that reveals a hidden world unlike any other. From the creators of "Ice Age" and "Rio", "Epic" tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teenage girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world... and ours.

Beyoncé Knowles, one of the most widely recognized and highly respected women in pop culture and star of the upcoming "A Star Is Born", voices Queen Tara; Colin Farrell ("Total Recall") is Ronin; Josh Hutcherson ("The Hunger Games") is Nod; Amanda Seyfried ("Dear John") portrays Mary Katherine; and Johnny Knoxville ("Jacka-s") voices Mandrake.

Aziz Ansari ("Parks And Recreation") portrays Mub; and rapper Pitbull voices Bufo. Jason Sudeikis ("Horrible Bosses" and the upcoming "The Campaign") portrays Bomba; and Aerosmith rock legend and "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler is Nim Galuu.

Co-starring are Blake Anderson ("Workaholics") as Dagda, and Judah Friedlander ("30 Rock") as Larry.

"Epic" charges into theaters everywhere May 24, 2013. The film is directed by Academy Award winner Chris Wedge, and produced by Lori Forte ("Ice Age: Continental Drift") and Jerry Davis ("Robots").

    Cough cough, sell out
How is thinking it would be fun to be in a movie and being ok with getting paid to do it selling out? Because he's a musician he's not allowed to act? I guess Will Smith's a sell out too.

I agree. He's totally gone Hollywood and I am not a fan. I liked him better when he was dedicated to music. However, if you were a musician and people were offering you jobs to be a judge on TV or to be character's voice in a animated film, wouldn't you take it up? I would.

I swear, I don't see how Steven Tyler can think that these "extra" things are good... "Oh, I'm the frontman of one of the greatest rock bands of all time... I think I know what the fans REALLY want from me: 1. Sing the Star Spangled Banner horribly 2. Star in a fast food restaurant commercial 3. Join an incredibly stupid and illegitimate talent show (that's POP based) 4. Voice act in a children's movie. Should I go on a world tour with Aerosmith or put out some new material...NAAAAAH."

This might sound a little crazy, but maybe he's enjoying doing these 'extra' things.
