Sting has silenced rumours of another The Police tour - insisting a second reunion would be "dreadful and gratuitous". The warring bandmates put aside their differences to thrill fans around the world with comeback dates in 2007 and 2008 - their first live shows together since 1983. Drummer Stewart Copeland recently refused to rule out another reunion, telling reporters, "I intend to be on the planet here for another 50 years; who knows what'll happen." But frontman Sting is adamant the band is no more. He says, "With The Police I think we did tie it up. And now it's done. (Another reunion would be) dreadful and gratuitous, and it wouldn't work." Thanks for the report to Contactmusic.com.

At least their not milking it, But it wouldn't surprise me if they did it again at least once, you don't know what's going to happen next week.

why cant they do a record now while they still can do it... i saw them live, and theyre still very amazing. stewart can still hit it hard.. still an empressive drummer.... obviously stewart still wants it, Andyw doesnt mind.. i think Sting just doesnt want to. we'll atleast how bout invite them both on his solo records and play altogether..hehehe

People say things and mean it and later on do something different than what they initially had in mind. Such is life.

So Sting says as of 2009. The day will come when they are all really old farts, they "realise we love each other and have something special", lay their differences to rest before they start laying each other six foot under and put on another reunion tour.

Yea fight the man by buying his internet connection and giving him money.

This sucks. They're one of my favorite bands and I didn't get to see them the last time around. I certainly didn't get to see them in the 80's, I was born 10 years after they broke up

I really hope they have a reunion I would be surprised if they did, but I'd be pretty damn happy. After all, I haven't seen Summers much lately, kickass but underrated

i dunno. i'll believe it when sting dies. it's not the first time a rock star has said that and did then exact opposite.

True enough, even though it's always sad to "lose" a good band like The Police

Well it's possible they might reunite in the future as Copeland says, but I like that their not milking it.
