Surviving Beatles Performing at Grammy Awards

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were officially announced among the latest batch of Grammy Awards 2014 performers, along with John Legend, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.

The surviving Beatles are set to receive the 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award, whereas McCartney is also up for Best Rock Song with "Cut Me Some Slack" Nirvana collaboration and Best Music Film with "Live Kisses."

The event is scheduled to take place on January 26 at Los Angeles Staples Center and will be broadcasted on CBS. Other notable guitar-driven performers include metal giants Metallica who will hit the stage with renowned Chinese classical pianist Lang Lang.

As far as rock and metal nominees go, the list includes such prominent acts as Black Sabbath, QOTSA, Jack White, Dream Theater and more. Full details here.

In related news, McCartney and Starr might take part in a partial Beatles reunion on the David Letterman show. As reported, CBS is hoping to make the event happen in the first week of February.
