System Of a Down are amongst the latest bands to have been announced for this year's Reading And Leeds festivals.

The group join a line-up that already features Eminem, Deftones and Alt. J. It will be the band's first UK appearance since appearing at Download Festival in June 2011. Also announced for the festival are Biffy Clyro, Foals, Bring Me The Horizon and the recently reunited Fall Out Boy.

While fans will no doubt be delighted to see the reunited System again, those awaiting new material might not want to hold their breath. As Serj Tankian noted when asked last year, a new System album isn't on the cards right now:

"When people are asking, 'When can we get new music from you,' I think it's the biggest compliment in the world," says Tankian.

"We have not made a plan to do it as of yet. I think it's something that we'll get together at the right time when we all have that head space and do it. But, you know, it hasn't been that time yet, so I think everyone will know when it is. It's as simple as that."

Reading and Leeds festivals will take place over the weekend of August 23rd - 25th

Wonder if Scars on Broadway will play too, they have/had a new album on the way last I heard.
I don't think reading is worth it. I might have gone when Muse played origin of symmetry for the last time, and SOAD is tempting but the other acts are all meh. Also Biffy Clyro headlining, Christ they're shit.
