System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjia has hinted that the rockers may be reuniting this year, reports Nme.com. The band have not been active since 2006 but Odadjia posted a message on his Twitter page suggesting that a comeback may be on the cards. "Are u guys ready for System???" he wrote. Rumours of a System Of A Down reunion have abound at various points since they went on hiatus. Frontman Serj Tankian embarked on a solo career. He released his first solo album, "Elect The Dead", in 2007 while Odadjian recorded with members of the Wu-Tang Clan and launched a new online music initiative. Meanwhile, guitarist Daron Malakian started a new band called Scars On Broadway, also featuring System drummer John Dolmayan. Last November three of the band members joined Deftones on stage together in Hollywood for a benefit gig for Deftones bassist Chi Cheng, who is currently hospitalised.

I can't wait to see if this is true, so long as Daron remembers who the actual singer is in that band...

All this crap from haters, everywhere on UG, really saddens me. If you can't say something positive, don't say anything. And everyone has different favourite albums, deal with it.

note on my comment: I didn't mean the say "It won't happen"...what I meant was, it won't happen as of now. In a year or two? maybe, I hope so.

As much as I would like to see SOAD reunite, because they're awesome, it won't happen. I think sometimes they keep the anticipation going, but Serj as said that they're all rumors and has pushed down any indication of SOAD reuniting. BUT....that doesn't mean they can change their minds. We need SOAD...because I can't stand some of the new bands that are out.... SOAD is AMAZING!

This Cant wait for a new album, if they reunite

steal this album and that hypnotize/mesmorize albums were god awful. no way hypnotize and mesmorize should have been two separate albums. cut the crap out and make one decent album, which still wouldn't have touched the selftitled or toxicity. dunno, used to love SOAD, but those last three albums soured them right out for me

seriously, enough of the negative hopes people. You guys are gonna crush my hyperness! XD seriously though, i would be able to die happy if i got one more SOAD album and got to see a SOAD concert. MY FINGERS ARE CROSSED!!!!

now, with all that aside, i quite agree with what most of you are saying. our music today has NO meaning to it whatsoever. WE NEED MEANING TO OUR MUSIC!!!!! SOAD is an extremely eye-opening band. its all shit without meaning. SOAD FOR LIFE!!!

Where did they ever say that? I think they only did so once for the Eurovision competition.

same here. i liked serj and scars on broadway, but after awhile i got tired of it and SOAD's last two albums were incredible so i hope they come back strong

I totally agree. Soundgarden's back though. With every there's an equal and opposite reaction I guess.

Umm, if by "most" you mean "no" I guess... Hypnotize and Mesmerize had maybe 4 or 5 decent songs between them, buried in loads of filler/songs too random for their own good/SOAD just failing to write good songs. Their first album is ****ing LOADED with amazing music, one of my favorite albums ever, and Toxicity is almost universally regarded as their best. Look it up. Maybe they bacame better musicians, but it doesn't show. If the (still hypothetical) new music is as good as their most recent, I'll be disappointed. If it's as good as Toxicity and before, I'll be ecstatic.

I own every SOAD album and I think Mesmerize and Hypnotize are the definite best. Toxicity is good, but certainly not their best.

...because they were tasteless in a way you have to be sophisticated to enjoy. Dude I hope they do a show at least somewhere near where I'm at. I missed the one opportunity to see them, I can't miss another!

NO offence to soad, but is anyone tired of the General News Section all ways saying something like: "_____ has HInted that they may POSSIBLY reunite"

Well with all the crappy music nowadays what do you expect? Of course people are gonna be excited about a good band reuniting. What else do they have to be excited about on the main page? Avril Lavigne being on the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack?

Please God, let this happen. This band had a lot more creativity in em before they disbanded.

No. The last two albums were NOTHING compared to Toxicity. It's the exact same thing that's happening to a lot of bands these days; they project a certain sound as their 'unique' sound and never sound the same on a record again. Not unexpectable, but when you're a talented band you stay interesting.
