Taking Back Sunday singer Adam Lazzara's leg was crushed and broken by a falling tree over the weekend.
The frontman was at a recording studio with his band in a rural part of Michigan on Saturday (March 3). He went outside for a cigarette when a tree collapsed on him and trapped him underneath it.
According to report by TMZ, the rest of Lazzara's band heard his calls of distress and went outside to help, but couldn't lift the tree off him. They called the emergency services and a local fire brigade team arrived and sawed the tree to pieces and released Lazzara.
Lazzara's leg was broken in the accident and it will be in a cast for the next 4-6 weeks.
It is not known if Lazzara's injury will affect Taking Back Sunday's upcoming UK shows. Taking Back Sunday have been confirmed as the headliner of this year's Slam Dunk festival. The emo veterans are set to headline the punk double header, which will take place on May 26 at Leeds University and on May 27 at Hertforshire University.
Also confirmed to play the festival are Architects, Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats, The King Blues, The Audition, Mayday Parade and a whole host of others.
