Brandon Flowers of the Killers has confirmed that he plans to release a new solo album in 2015.

The frontman released his first solo record, "Flamingo," in 2010 and is currently working with Haim and Vampire Weekend producer Ariel Rechtshaid on its follow-up.

Speaking to NME, Flowers said: "The record's not done yet, but I'm excited about it ... I'm liking it." He also admits that the album is less influenced by his hometown of Las Vegas than "Flamingo" was. "People are going to interpret it how they will, but there's only a little bit of Vegas in there."

Meanwhile, on the subject of Rechtshaid, the frontman admits that their different ways of working have led to the pair butting heads.

"He's taking me out of my comfort zone. Normally I make demos and they're pretty similar to how the song ends up. but he'll take a song and be like, 'I hear this'. It's incredible – his palette and his range, what he's able to say. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we're hitting it off."

The Killers released greatest hits album "Direct Hits" in 2013. However, fans can rest assured that Flowers has no plans to end things with the band, saying: "I wanna keep being in this band. I don't think we'll get too morbid about it, I think we wanna keep going."

Why do these people go solo yet make the exact same kind of music as the band they're normally in?

This. I don't know shit about this exact artist but boy does it rustle my jimmies when people do this. It's just greed. They want more control over the project and more money.

I saw the words "Brandon Flowers" and "Vampire Weekend" mentioned in the same article and I immediately wanted to punch a kitten.

Unedited version "He's taking me out of my comfort zone. I used to sit on this really comfy chair I had, but Ariel took it away. I'm not allowed to sit by the mixing console anymore. I just sit next to the groupies on the coach." "Normally I make demos and they're pretty similar to how the song ends up, but he'll take a song and be like, 'I heard it. I think is crap'. It's incredible – his palette and his range, what he's able to say. I mean, he doesn't paint or sing. And he only speaks English, but you know what I mean. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we're hitting it off, because I don't argue anymore. I go like, yeah you are right, that demo sucked, and it sounded too much like Mr. Brightside." "I wanna keep being in this band. Cause, my solo work doesn't pay the bills. I don't think we'll get too morbid about it. I mean our band name is 'The Killers', but we really don't kill anybody. I want people to understand that. We are musicians, not hitmen. I think we wanna keep going. We'll get together and talk once our bank accounts start running low."

Flamingo is an incredible album if 80's pop fused with current new wave is your thing. It's a very unique album.
