Travis Barker, drummer for Plus 44 and formerly for Blink-182, was severely burned this weekend after the plane he was traveling in crashed shortly after take-off. Also injured during the crash was famous DJ Adam AM Goldstein. Both are being treated for severe burns but are expected to make a full recovery.

Unfortunately the four remaining passengers on the plane were killed in the accident. This includes pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, and co-pilot James Bland, 52, as well as Barker's assistant Chris Baker, 29, and his security guard Charles Still, 25.

The musicians were traveling in a private jet heading from South Carolina to California on Friday night, September 19th. Officials speculate that the plane blew a tire when it overran the runway and skidded out onto the highway where it crashed into an embankment.

One eye-witness reports seeing a fireball speeding across the road a few hundred yards ahead of him. Once he arrived on the scene and called for help he says he remembers seeing Barker and Goldstein standing in the middle of road engulfed in flames and desperately trying to put each other out. He claims that Goldstein told him of the remaining four passengers on the plane, but the flames were too strong at that point for him to do anything.

The two are being treated at Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia. They're being treated for 2nd and 3rd degree burns, but are expected to make a full recovery. They did not sustain any other injuries in the accident.

Report by David Lowe-Bianco.

I was watching CNN yesterday and it said "Ex-Blink 182 Drummer in Fatal Plane Crash". Must admit I was really taken aback and immediately googled the report. Good thing he survived. R.I.P to the other passengers

Sounds like Mr. Barker and DJ AM were very very lucky. Sorry to hear about the other 4 passengers.

wow your an ignorant ass. thats totally irrelevant. how much money they have or how famous they are has nothing to do with whether they survive or not. i cant even imagine what it would be like to be in a crash like that and have your friends die.

I was surprised that there were no +44 flamers so far.. but seriously dude that's uncalled for. Besides, it makes sense.. they were sitting in the back.

if i ever become good enough to tour the nation, i'm never taking a plane (or any flying mode of transportation) anywhere. too many bad accidents with musicians and flying.

Not a big fan of Travis although old blink was pretty fun. But it still sucks to hear about something as sad as this. Makes me sort of not want to become a famous musician in fear of plane and bus mishaps! RIP to those who died, and I hope the living make a full recovery without trouble.

the worst part about this is, (well, not this part but) you know, he's gonna be okay, but two of his closest friends are now dead. That's the part we have to remember. Not only is the recovery probably going to take a huge toll on him, but the emotional part of it too.

I wonderd when this was gonna get reported on here. I found out on saturday that he'd been in a plain crash. Then on the sunday morning on my way to work my mum said it said on the news it was fatal. I spent the whole sunday at work totally devestaed. Being a drummer myself and having Blink been my fave band growing up. Im so glad he's alright, i hope him and Goldstien make a full recovery. RIP for the others.
