Weezer will be taking their most fervent fans over the high seas when they set off on their very own floating festival in January next year.
On January 19th, the band will charter a cruise ship from Miami to the Mexican island of Cozumel, with fans enjoying a four-night stay and see the band perform more than once. As icing on the Weezer cake, every fan will get a chance to take a photo with the band and see them in a special Q&A session.
There's a hefty lineup of other bands to perform on the four stages on the ship. "Coming along with us are special guests Dinosaur Jr," said the band on the festival website, "as well as Sebadoh, Gene Ween and Dave Dreiwitz, Wavves, The Antlers, Yuck, Free Energy, Boom Bip, J Mascis (solo acoustic), Lou Barlow, Keepaway, Ozma, The Nervous Wreckords, The Knocks, Sleeper Agent and Yacht Rock Revue."
Fans need to sign up at TheWeezerCruise.com with a deposit before July 18th if they want to attend. Individual ticket prices start at $799 for those in a double room, $599 if you're in a group of four, and taxes will cost $179.
Meanwhile, Weezer will share a stage with The Flaming Lips in New York this month. No, really, both bands will set up on the same stage and play at the same time, according to Pitchfork.
