Will Slipknot's Corey Taylor Front Velvet Revolver?

Corey Taylor suggests he could be the new singer for the supergroup.

Will Slipknot's Corey Taylor Front Velvet Revolver?
6
After Scott Weiland exit from Velvet Revolver in 2008, fans have been wondering what replacement could make the grade for the supergroup's high-calibre lineup. The first hint was in December, when drummer Matt Sorum expressed sympathy for their fan's patience, saying "We're tired of it, believe me. But we don't have the ability to just jump out there with any singer. We can't do it." He went on to claim that the band had found someone they "really like a lot," though he remained tight-lipped over who it would be. "We can't make the announcement yet because we're 'dating,' you know. We haven't consummated the relationship, we haven't sat down this gentleman and made the agreement together." So when Billboard asked Corey Taylor if he was the man in question, his reply, "To be continued!" left little doubt that he could be in serious negotiations with the group. Taylor also commented on the tragic death of Slipknot bassist Paul Gray in May last year. "We lost a huge member of our family - in my opinion the biggest - and it's a different vibe now. So right now I'm just taking it step by step, and I can only hope that the other guys in the band are as well." Others known to have auditioned for Velvet Revolver are the Scars On Broadway singer Frankie Perez, Royston Langdon from Spacehog, and Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, who has been touring with Slash's live band for the past two years. Thanks for the report to Billboard and NME.

A female singer would be interesting. Amy Lee would be the best, to me. Dryden Mitchell from Alien Ant Farm to sing, maybe.

because Corey was to ****ing epic to show to this public!

The pics update before the article so that's why you see Hayley Williams instead of Corey Taylor. So, this means some sort of Paramore news is the headline today, great more unneccesary drama...

Sorry for the double post, but dude, look into some stone sour, thats where he really sings.

Hmmm this could be interesting, Corey's singing voice is nothing short of amazing, but I think I'd prefer that voice at Stone Sour. Not sure he would fit in with VR.

Indeed, I never really liked Slipknot or his singing in that band, but he absolutely SHINES in Stone Sour, great band.

and she could sing about fighting over boys and trying to wish on stars. Slash would totally be into that right? /S?

No market for that. Clearly, there's no market for rock bands to have female vocalists. It's never proved to be successful...oh wait... lol yeah. Just to name a few with female vocalists: Evanescence, In This Moment, Arch Enemy, Lacuna Coil, Flyleaf, Halestorm, Otep, We Are The Fallen, Within Temptation, among numerous others... All of those bands have had their fair share of success and fame. Saying there's no market for female vocalists is just being completely ignorant. i think you can combine all of those and they haven't had an ounce of as much fame as Guns & roses.
You are completely missing the point... These females are great singers in average bands... Slash and the rest of VR are NOT average. I'm goign to get ripped apart for saying this, but look what B.O.B. did for hayley from paramore. Look what Seether did for Amy Lee, evenesance was aight, but when she sang with seether, she turned more mainstream because we realized she could rock as well as write piano songs... to argue fame is completely irrelevant. I'm an A7X fan, but that doesn't mean i'm arguing they are the best ever, they aren't, I just love listening to them. VR has the pieces of the puzzle to be great, and they have the tools to make a corner piece fit in the middle.
