Album Of The Year: Place Your Votes

Come and vote for your favorite album of 2012 in this poll, and we'll post the results in time for the holidays.

Ultimate Guitar

It's that time of year when blogs and news outlets start stacking up their favorite releases of the year.

But UG is different. This is a community, where the readers have a big say in the content. While we're busy maintaining the website and looking out for fresh rock news, you guys are rocking out and living the dream.

If anyone has the authority to vote for album of the year, it's you.

Since it could be hard to track all the votes in the comments, we decided the fairest way was to post a poll so the result and winner is clear.

Nominations were based on the most viewed album reviews posted throughout the year.

It's a pretty tough choice, so we don't envy you at all right now. We'll post the results in time for the holidays.

Vote here - we can't wait to see the results!

Did any underrated modern classics slip out from under our radar? Which album did you vote for, and why does it deserve to win? Let us know in the comments.

There's some amazing albums on this list, but Blunderbuss was just so unique I've gotta vote for it.
    Lenfant Savage - Gojira
I was scrolling down looking for someone to say this! Fantastic album, I have listened to it countless times since release.
    46 and 2
    Tame Impala - Lonerism
Tame Impala, Vintage Trouble, and Rival Sons are doing extremely good work. More people should check them out and get them into the modern rock conscience.
Yeah, best album of the year that got mainstream appraisal (Voted best album in NME).
Clockwork Angels has less votes than that new Slash album? wat.
I'm pretty sure there were some more albums released this year...
Agreed, there should be an other category so you can suggest other albums. My vote goes to Reticence: The Musical by Art By Numbers.
Soundgarden's King Animal is the best comeback of recent years imo
I'm kind of offended that BTBAM's Parallax II didn't make the poll. It's truly a masterpiece.
For me it was between Parallax II by BTBAM, Periphery II by Periphery and Story of Light by Steve Vai, but only the Periphery one was on the list so...
Where is Devin? Epicloud was one of the best releases of the year.
"Nominations were based on the most viewed album reviews posted throughout the year." Doesn't seem very intelligent to me, there are a lot of good albums missing here. Why not let users add the nominations themselves?
I believe Tremonti - All I Was should be in there and should totally get album of the year
Testament, Gojira, Ne Obliviscaris, and Between the Buried and Me are missing. I really don't think their choice to go with most viewed was a good idea. It seems like a really inaccurate way to find the most popular album.
MUSE any day of the week, astonishingly good album. so many great songs and a variety of styles, with Survival being my favourite of the album.
Lots of great albums deserving the title this year. But none of them on that list, in my opinion. Clockwork Angels is by far the best on the list, but still not the best I've heard this year.
No Between the Buried and Me? Future Sequence was easily the best album of the year. Followed by 9in no particular order): Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I Lamb of God - Resolution Gojira - L'Enfant Sauvage (also absent from the list?!?) Anathema - Weather Systems
All I Was - Tremonti. How the hell is that not included? It is one of the best albums this year by one of the best known guitar players. Wth UG.
I would love to see The D take this one, just for the hell of it. I mean, they are better then The Beatles, Zeppelin, and The Stones combined. That's not an opinion, it's a fact.
Well, I'm voting Koloss since it's the one I like most from this list, but I actually have a bunch of albums I'd vote instead if they were here.
Really good album, getting Mark Tornillo on vocals is the best move they've made in years. Last two albums have been so freakin good!!!!
    Dr. Knox666
Kreator - Phantom Antichrist Lamb of God - Resolution Testament - Dark Roots of Earth
Glad to see Slash's doin so well, normally I argue he's overrated, but this album was damn fun. Would have liked to see Deftones/10 Years/Stone Sour/ Tremonti on there just for some extra options.
Call Me No One - Last Parade Projected - Human Deftones - Koi No Yokan 10 Years - Minus The Machine Tremonti - All I Was My top 5, coincidentally, none of them are on that list, go figure...
