UG Awards: Vote For Best Music Video

Which act nailed their visual efforts better than any other? Place your nominations and YouTube links here and they might win an award.

Ultimate Guitar

As part of our forthcoming UG Awards 2012 post, we're asking readers to vote in a new category each day for a special post over the holidays.

Today's category:

Who had the best music video in 2012?

Post a YouTube link as your nomination in the comments, and upvote any that you agree with. The video with the highest number of up votes wins the award.

The video had to be officially unveiled in 2012, and it has to be the video for a recorded song (no backstage video entries).

Voting tips

  • Place ONE nominations per comment, or the upvotes won't count. You can place as many nominations as you want across different comments, though.

  • Do a quick search of the page to make sure someone else didn't already nominate that video. Just scroll down to the bottom so all the comments have loaded, then do a search on the page (ctrl-f on a PC, cmd-f on a mac) for their name.

You're welcome to discuss the topic in the comments and reply to nominations, as usual.

Remember to vote in our other award categories too. The list so far:

    Band Of The Year

    Guitarist Of The Year

    Best New Act

    Best Comeback

    Biggest Drama Of 2012

    Best Live Event

"To Be The Best" - Tenacious D Because I really don't watch many music videos.
      Machine Head Darkness Within
Red Fang - Hank Is Dead
or High On Fire - Fertile Green
Damn I was coming here to post the High on Fire one. That is the single greatest video ever! SMOKE WEED!!!!!
High On Fire IS pretty epic. Haha I like your username I actually have a Dopesmoker poster up next to my computer. Though it's of the came with my copy of the album. Also bought myself a Sleep shirt for Christmas :3 Also found a copy of Sleep's Holy Mountain for sale for like $7 and bought it because it was the first time I saw a Sleep CD for sale right in front of me xD
Hm.. i might get hated for this, but the best music video to me was
not saying it is the best music though.
      Nero Galon
I really like that song and am not afraid to say it. And when watching the video it reminded me of Tonight, Tonight by Smashing Pumpkins so much.
Storm Corrosion - Drag Ropes Very different video, stunning visuals and a disturbingly moving storyline.
      BTBAM- Astral Body
I'm surprised I don't see anybody voting for "Forced Gender Reassignment" yet. Those guys must be sleeping in 'til noon.
Since the guy who posted this was downvoted because he replied to the first comment, I'm posting it again:
Gangnam Style - I really had a laugh with this one
I find it hard to disagree with you. That guy in the elevator gets me everytime
There's a reason this is approaching a billion views. When I first watched this video my eyes exploded, I had five orgasms, achieved enlightenment, went back in time, killed Hitler, road a whale and touched MC Hammer.
Most viewed of the year ≠ Best of the year
To become the most viewed video on youtube in 6 months must mean he's done something right, which in this case is produce a hilarious video. It's OK if you don't like it. Some people on UG take this shit way too bloody seriously.
I know nobody will get as far down as this, but the best surely has to be Doom and Gloom by the Stones
Marilyn Manson - No Reflection After making incredible videos for many years, Manson's videos turned into complete shit in 2002, and they've all pretty much been so, until this one. I think it's a really cool video, which made me more interested in the upcoming album. And it's also Manson's best album since Holy Wood.
      don't hate lol
I actually like the album, because it's honest and very minimalistic. And the video is nice to look at.
Actually, I like the album as a whole: the instrumentation and the authentic country production. There just aren't really any songs that grab me. The best I've heard is the live performance of Something Like Olivia.
I really like Walt Grace's Submarine. Mayer managed to create a beautiful story, which also symbolizes his own hardships.
I'm going to get downvoted for posting a Black Keys song by people who won't even click it or watch the video, which is damn good. The Black Keys and RZA - "The Baddest Man Alive" [youtube]
Well i have to say Gangnam Style because i have not watched a music video as much as that this year aside from "From The Blindspott" = Blacklistt which no one here with know because their a New Zealand Band. The whole video was written by the fans themselves
Tool really needs to come out with some new material. Their music videos are my favorite they never associate their image with their music, allowing you to get a clean, unbiased opinion of their music.
      Nero Galon
Like the music or not you can't deny this video was a great representation of nature.
      Lame category IMO.
Eh... My vote is fore Micah Buzan's The Theif. Not a lot of people have heard of him, but both his music and animations are superb and original, and it's about time the underdog wonr once.
Slash's Bad Rain.. perfect fit to the song and is just rock n roll in every way
as Adam implied I'm shocked that you able to earn $7328 in one month on the internet. did you look at this page Great70DOTcom
