UG Awards: Vote For Biggest Drama Of 2012

The rock world is full of surprises. What was the most memorable drama to erupt in 2012? There's plenty to pick from, it's been a busy year...

Ultimate Guitar

As part of our forthcoming UG Awards 2012 post, we're asking readers to vote in a new category each day for a special post over the holidays.

Today's category:

Who was the biggest drama of 2012?

We want you to place a nomination in the comments and upvote the ones you agree with. The one with the highest number of up votes wins the award.

It must relate to the rock world in some way. Some examples: Axl Rose rejecting the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the barmy breakup of Queensryche, Josh Homme suing Kyuss... the list goes on.

Voting tips

- Place ONE nominations per comment, or the upvotes won't count. You can place as many nominations as you want across different comments, though.

- Do a quick search of the page if you want to check if someone else has made a similar nomination. Just scroll down to the bottom so all the comments have loaded, then do a search on the page (ctrl-f on a PC, cmd-f on a mac) for their name.

You're welcome to discuss the topic in the comments and reply to nominations, as usual.

Remember to vote in our other award categories too. The list so far:

Band Of The Year

Guitarist Of The Year

Best New Act

Best Comeback

UGs wide publicising of every single one of Dave Mustaine's goddamn sentences.
Oh, oh. I forgot about Courtney Love accusing Dave Grohl making a move on Frances-Bean Cobain. Now that was ridiculous.
    My Last Words
Mark my words: New Dave Mustaine article featuring his controversial opinion on the connecticut shooting within the next week.
My money is on that he thinks it's another scheme of Obama's to stop the 2nd Amendment, just like he thought was the case with the movie theater shooting.
Okay dude Im just wondering, do you totally 100% belive that its impossible for all the US government to want the book "1984" to become a reality or what
    ZOSO <(")
personally i don't believe that Obama caused the shooting in connecticut. although i believe without a doubt that he will try harder than ever to push a gun ban because of it. if a teacher would have been armed that day that maniacs killing spree would've been a lot shorter.
are you dumb or what, there's multiple cases of teachers beating up children, imagine if they were armed... plus it would be awesome to have shootings in the middle of a school with teachers firing at maniacs with children running in between
Gotta go with Randy Blythe's manslaughter case.
In all seriousness this probably is the best one. It was the only one that I was actually interested in keeping up with.
This one. There is no competition. The Gun N Roses soap opera has been going on for years so it's not new. The Queensryche ordeal....well maybe if it was 1992 it would be a big deal but not now.
Gotta go with the dramaqueen himself, Axl and his letter explaining why he didn't go to the hall of fame.
    Djent kids
i listen to "djent" and approve of this nomination
Djent isn't a genre. Well done, you listen to a playing style. I suppose I'm a "fingerstyle kid" then?
If it's a very characteristic playing style of a certain subgenre I don't see the problem. Some people seem to be so damn upset that djent is being called a genre, the thing is, there are no official genre naming boards around, it becomes a genre if enough people think it is a genre. And as of now, you have to admit, djent is a bit of a genre. Hehe, djenre.
i used quotations for a reason. people like you are that reason. cant believe people still get pissed over that though
the epic fail case of 21st december that is yet to happen to not happen .
