Falling asleep to a proper tune can undoubtedly enhance one's sleep quality, helping the listener be more productive and feel way better.

The matter of the best song to fall asleep to definitely comes down to personal taste, but right now we'll try to figure out the taste of UG community on this one. Therefore, this week's Wednesday Question is:

What is the best song to listen to while going to sleep?

You've probably fallen asleep to a certain tune at least several times, but which song brings up the best memories? It also goes to show that we're searching for a positive context of falling asleep, so don't associate this one with boredom.

Same rules as always apply - only one suggestion per comment, vote up the ideas you support and vote down the ones you dislike. We'll sum up your votes by Friday and bring you another traditional UG Top 10. Let the voting begin!

I put the Celebration Day version of No Quarter on repeat once and went to sleep listening to it. That was an awesome experience.

I like "Dazed and Confused" from The Song Remains The Same. (not the 2007 remaster version, though). It's trippy, and relaxing

This. I once slept to a Black Sabbath playlist starting with this, and by the time I woke up it was the second half of Symptom of the Universe. It was bliss.

I will listen to absolutely anything going to sleep, I just cycle through my albums choosing whatever I feel like, but I don't think there's a single song I'd prefer to drift of to to this one.

UG should make a question like this: "best song to ... (not counting black sabbath songs)" That would be interesting

Agree, there's a wierd groupy-love-club around these internets, that insists that anything you can do Sabbath already did better. Anything... Best Song about a Squirrel? Easy; Sabbath. Coolest looking Moustache? Easy; Sabbath. Most interesting shoes worn on stage? That's easy; Sabbath. Even the most relaxing sleeping song is going to go to Sabbath. Maybe UG should run a month long special editorial on 'why Sabbath are the best thing ever to ever do anything ever ever including everything ever and even more' - and then the crowd can get it out of their system and we can think of some more creative responses.

what kind of stupid ****ing suggestion is this?

It's a song I can easily relax and fall asleep to, hence why I picked it. If you don't like it, make your own contribution, but don't be a b*tch about it.

Don't be a bitch? No, its more along the lines of "love more than one band" - It's about as interesting as The Simpsons winning every TV-show award at every ceremony every year...

I just want to take a minute and say that I'm sort of proud this inside joke is now the new cool thing. I'm not taking credit for it... well I'm taking some credit.

Porcupine Tree has had a lot of nomination here, and for this one I call Gravity Eyelids by far.

Pink Floyd - "Echoes" It's over 23 minutes long and one of the most beautiful and haunting songs they've ever recorded. It's great to fall asleep to... especially after a bowl or two.

Fell asleep listening to Octavarium once and it was pretty sweet. Crazy dreams and I woke up knowing the song completely from front to back.

Fell asleep while listening to Metropolis Pt. 2 once. Fell asleep during "Regression", slept through the rest of the album, and woke up at "Open your eyes, Nicholas". Very scary.
