Gathering up some of the most prominent figures of rock and metal, "Thriller - a Metal Tribute to Michael Jackson" record is now officially available for streaming in full via Cleopatra Records. Released on October 22, the album brought together the likes of Testament's Chuck Billy, former Iron Maiden singer Paul Dianno, Phil Campbell of Motorhead and Guns N' Roses axeman Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal as they paid tribute to the King of Pop through some of his greatest hits. Producer Bob Kulick seemed quite satisfied with the final 13-track outcome, saying that MJ was clearly properly honored. "We made these awesome songs kick ass while still being faithful to the original versions," he explained. "Add killer players like Doug Aldrich, Billy Sheehan, Bruce Kulick, Rudy Sarzo, Tony Franklin, Craig Goldy, Bumblefoot, Phil Campbell and you've got some real magic!" the awkward moment when a 10 year old Alien Ant Farm cover is the best song on a compilation album
A lot of these guys seem more like they're rock than metal. If that was the case, I feel that they should have included Chris Cornell's cover of Billie Jean, which is just fantastic.
Déjà-vu: that feeling you get when you think you've read this article before.

Good idea, absolutely shit execution. The mixing is dreadful and the album artwork is quite shoddy. Lots of potential, but i wouldn’t say it’s worth the time to look at unfortunately...
this is a great idea just its been very poorly executed and sounds very rushed
This is a disgrace to both Michael Jackson and metal.
Michael Jackson has already been disgraced for his pedophile ways, how can he be disgraced any further? I just can't believe any of these metal artists would be on board with this.
Did Alien Ant re-record Smooth Criminal for this or did they use the one they already released?
It says re-recorded.. it sounds a bit different, especially the guitar sound. Just my feeling.
Yea the vocal harmonies are a little less audible. Still good nonetheless, but the original recording was better.
Douchebag album says it's allstar tribute: I know nobody on it except for AAF. They f**k up every song except AAF's cover.
the mixing is what makes this horrible, it sounds like they took the live studio cut, mixed the vocals with some autotuning and then left it at that, the instruments just sound thin and don't fill up the song at all. Case and point listen to the re record of Smooth Criminal, vocals sound the same but the guitar is garbage because it wasn't mixed well.
Just seeing "and Craig Goldy (Dio)" on this makes me think how awesome it would have been if they were to have stumbled across a recording of Ronny J. Dio himself singing it. R.I.P Dio
I will never understand why people want to pay tribute to a guy who sexually assaulted mentally and physically handicapped children. He wasn't BAD, he was a bad person. I know I may sound a bit harsh, but this guy was a drug-addled pedophile. Lets let him just Rot in Peace.
He can also rot for buying the Beatles publishing catalog and licensing Beatles songs for car commercials. Knowing that whenever a Beatles song was heard this little freak put money in his pocket still pisses me off.
He was also a man who had his childhood ripped from him by an abusive father who used his children to make him rich. No one is condoning what he did but he was a deeply troubled man and its a vicious cycle.
I thought this would come out okay but it sounds like on of those CD's they attach to guitar magazines
I thought some of these tracks were alright... Then I came across the 'Rock With You' track, which might just be the worst cover I've ever heard.
no contributions from Van Halen? I would've figured at least Eddie would've done a 'Beat It' cameo or something
