Between The Buried And Me Set New Album Release Date

Between The Buried And Me have announced new album's release date, tour.

Ultimate Guitar

Globally celebrated progressive rock / cutting-edge metal innovators Between The Buried And Me will release its new album The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues on April 12, 2011 via Metal Blade Records.

The three-song strong, 30 minute tour de force was recorded at Canada's Metalworks Studios and Rattlebox Studios and produced / engineered by the Grammy awardwinning David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, King Crimson, Dream Theater, etc.) with BTBAM.

The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues represents BTBAM's musical and conceptual masterwork; the record showcases both the quintet's vivid execution and ambitious vision. The otherworldly conceptual thread linking each of the songs is mobilized around two human characters that live in different planes of existence and are separated by millions of light years, each confronted with similar personal issues. Subsequently, both characters make decisions that will change their lives, and perhaps the course of the universe, forever.

Musically, the release presents aura-rich atmospheres rife with roaring volumes, corrugated rhythms and trance-inducing intricacies. Cerebral and visceral, soft and heavy, melodic and abrasive, tender and brutal, familiar and strange and taut yet sprawling and epic, Between The Buried And Me has crafted a sound that is musically sophisticated yet primal and a disc where every new passage leads to the culmination of an epic adventure.

Track listing:

01. Specular Reflection 02. Augment of Rebirth 03. Lunar Wilderness

A special landing page for the release has been designed and hosts a six minute edit of the new BTBAM song "Specular Reflection". The hub, which also allows fans to pre-order The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues is now live at this location.

Aw, the last article implied it would be a full LP... oh well, 30 minutes from Between the Buried and Me are better than 60 from almost any other band. Dammit though, it's going to be hard for me to hit any of those tour dates, and yet I must...
i hate nevering having idaho dates yet they travel right through here

Nah I mean Quebec City. Protest the hero is also coming to Montreal without coming to quebec city, but montreal is just a really small new york. Nothing really impressive. Quebec city is a beautiful place.
what the UG article missed is that this 30 minute release is a part 1 EP, with a full LP part 2 coming out later this year. look it up.
I love BTBAM but whoever wrote this article was totally kissing arse. 30 minutes is a good length. There have been some quality albums around the half hour mark from a massive range of bands including The Beatles, The Doors, Led Zep, Frank Zappa, Al Di Meola, Slayer, Children Of Bodom etc.. Just because you can get 80 minutes of music on a CD, it doesn't mean you have to fill every last second up with crap.
^ That's awesome. Brings to mind Isis' Celestial/SGNL>05. Just got the chance to preorder and listen to the Specular Reflection clip. MotherFUCK is that some great music. All the metaphorical fellatio in the article now seems warranted. I am very aroused for April 12.
They have said the follow up to this EP will be a full length album and will continue the story this begins.

Oh god I wish they would, hopefully with the release of the LP after this they will. Dying to see them!
